Whats up,

I stumbled accross a few instrumental beats on limewire
but their was only a title, no artist or composer.
I'm just wondering what are the risks in using these beats for my own tracks and recording over them?
Could i get in shit for using them?
it does say "free hiphop beat" in the title. Id email the creator if i knew who it was!
One of thems dope as and goes perfectly with one of my tracks, and im dieing to use it if possible.

Thanks for any help.

Peace!

well if it says "free hip hop beat", then it's bound to be free. if it was copyrighted, then i'm sure then wouldn't have uploaded their files to let other users obtain them. the only shit i know that costs money are the instrumentals on soundclick. hope that helps out

That was bad advice.

The best thing to do is find some up and coming producer on Sound Click or even here on Rap Worlds, or somewhere in your hood.

Any jackass with a keyboard can take a "copyrighted" beat by another artist and put it up on Limewire and say it's a "free beat".

Chances are it's some kid just trying to get his stuff out there, but try to have some interface with the producer.
