Did anyone see the article on Rollingstone.com that quotes 50cent as saying that books ruined Nas's career. An interesting thought from the man who published "the ski mask way". I posted the link below.

In theory, it's not too far off from the truth. Because obviously, America has a track record of concealing the intelligent rappers and showcasing the idiots. But in the case of Nas, I don't think that was the case at all. Nas was making mainstream-friendly conscious tracks in the early 00's when he was one of the most popular rappers in the game. 'One Mic' and 'I Can' are good examples. Those were successful tracks, mainstream wise. Nas' mainstream downfall came about from other reasons...
"He was almost weirder than me ’cause we would go to breakfast and he’d be there reading a book." The thought of that made me laugh. Nas is an intelligent dude...

No, America has a track record of concealing rappers who dont sell records and showcasing the ones who actually make money. Have you ever heard of capitalism? I'm sure you have, altho you were probably taught that it was the evil white man's way of keeping black people down, just like everything else in America.
But what else is new, another conspiracy from this idiot. Honestly, I'm pretty sure my cell phone is smarter than you. The combination of your willful ignorance and victim's mentality is frankly something we dont need in this country.

On topic though.
Incredibly ignorant of 50 cent to say that considering.
Perhaps their was more to the story than was published.

I hate 50.
doesn't make a difference to 50, as he says he's laughing straight to the bank
and i read the whole interview .. the rest of the interview was pretty on point except that bit
i found it weird how h50 classed himself weird

Thanks for neg repping me, but I'm right Juice. I like Nas, but if he wasn't so preachy he'd sell more. What I said was the truth, and what 50 said was the truth.
That's not to say Nas being preachy and intelligent isn't a good thing, but don't expect to sell that way.
