darn you I was just about to post this, here's a download link anyway

this is the sample he used: http://www.zshare.net/audio/2918716f7cd23a/

Dre's really fallen off I think, the drums on this beat are terrible, and it really doesn't have that dre feel to it. I haven't really listened to the rapping yet but I'll comment on that later

The beat is the nicest thing I've heard all year. Lil' Wayne wasn't too bad either.

8/10 overall, I liked it.

It's pretty good... Def the better side of Wayne... The beat is mellow and nice..

@ Gold, do you hate ALL drums? You hated Timbo's Kill Yourself Beat even though that was crazy!

I hate all bad drums. The drums on kill yourself were fuckin terrible, the drums on this are to electronic sounding for me, especially the the claps. On a sample like this some more acoustic sounding drums or even just a break would have sounded alot better, but I guess since it's for lil wayne he couldn't have done that

as much as i'm sick of seeing Waynes name recently i think this song is alright but your going to get people who says it's trash just cos it's Wayne anyway

the song is easy on the ears ... the beat and Wayne's flow where alright

i liked the part he spit about the whole pregnant "kiss her in the naval" bit

but Chalie Wingate aka Max B is better than him

I don't like this song very much. The beat was alright, but from a musical stand point, that song was a piece of trash, I don't care what his punches are. Although some make me laugh, I'm not gonna lie.

Something like "I'm all about bread like a sesame seed" Shit is so weak its funny, but obviously he knows that.

Whoever said the thing about the drums and shit, is 100 percent right. I been bitchin about production, but some people just dont mind it. Its bad that you can 100 percent tell a beat is from 2005-07. The drums sound cool but there is NO hit on them, so fucking tame. And timbos beat your talking about is a poppy bullshit beat.

By the way, AOTP's producer sampled this 100x better.

I just got done listening to it. I cant wait till every kid is going to say "look at me like a set of tv's" as a qoutable. Song was easy going but still think his punches are so wack-average, and when you over hype shit like "i hit niggas in the head like vonage" it makes them look even worse.

Best drums I've heard in rap in a while would be Just Blaze's Show me what ya got. I think the production was amazing on that track, and Jay do sooooo wrong by it.

But I do agree with you mage

Yep excacly what I was getting at. "Les Dunes Dostende" is beautifull peice of music, I would go as far to say dre ruined it. Those drums are so plastic feeling it's unreal, especially the claps it would have sounded better without any all together. There's no rawness to them, no punch. It would have sounded 1000x better with just a simple break or sutt'n. Dre has really lost his touch.

The beat was quite good, but the song as a whole was alright.

Why do people go on about Lil Wayne's "punchlines" etc when Papoose is a much better MC, with better punchlines, metas, similies, better flow, better voice etc?

While those drums were very nice, it had no hip hop feel to it honestly. Sounded like it belonged on a Jazz solo, but then again that whole song is kind of like that so it fit it. I think the hardest is Justblazes saigons Cmon baby, it hits so hard. Justblaze never toned down his shit yet, and if you listen carefully, he MAY be the ONLY one besides Premo who still uses the same equiptment and doesnt montone every single fucking beat (Pharrell, Dre, Timbapop).

And honestly I get hate for this but papoose says somethings that are even cornier then weezy. To answer your question bottom line who does the mainstream people know who even uses punches besides weezy and Pap? No one, and that is why Weezy is number 1 on Mtv's list. Hes looked at as a god cause he fills his pop songs with cheesy metaphors. Maybe If i was born yesterday, but you cant listen to Shady Thesaurus Chino XL Big L and Redman then turn on a weezy or pap song and recognize it as great or even good.

Lil Wayne seems to be into his OWN shit, which makes his music even more convincing. Not to mention, his elementary style isn't all that different from the early beginnings of hip hop when you think about it. Wayne focuses on the basics, and makes it entertaining.

It's like a dude playing basketball, who doesn't score AND he's got an ugly shot. His shot is ugly as fuck, but over time he starts making more and more baskets. And after awhile, when he's sinking every shot, his style isn't so ugly anymore, even though it may look the same because it's his own and he's mastered it.
