It is known that Jack plays football for his school...He always says how he must go practice and what not, and nobody ever says a word about it....

In all honesty, even if Jack is good at football, he's not going to make it to the pro's......He plays football because he likes to and he's (may or may not be) good at it, and nobody busts his balls...

So because I write lyrics instead of blocking a quaterback, why do people talk negative about "textceeing"? If it's something I'm good at, and I love doing it, why does it bother people so much? I know I'm not going to be a REAL rapper one day, I know that, but why cant I write down my feelings and make them rhyme?...We'll never see Jack playing offensive line on ESPN, or me on MTV but I still want to know the difference.

People come to this site for different reasons. I originally sought this site out for text battles, and I ended up staying for the hip hop section.

And while I don't think text battling is respectable or truly 'hip hop' I think now, especially in the days of the "information super-highway" it's just another facet of hip hop culture. It's just another medium for hip hop music, whether it's good or not.

And in Akeliz defense, as far as text battling goes, he's one of the best I've ever seen.

There's definitely skill involved in text battling, even though I doubt most of these textcees can spit half the shit they're typing, there's still a skill in it.
