But the other month I gave his "Be" album a listen and it opened my eyes to how awesome this guy can be. I don't think I was ready to appreciate his records when I was younger.

I think the dude rocks.. he rhymes from the heart bout real issues, love, life, family - just the stuff that the average guy on the street goes through a lot.. some rappers distance themselves so much from the crowd - with all their money and so on - but Com is just one of us half the time.. i hope he sticks with Kanye and drops a couple more good albums cos i think the two are on the same wave-length and totally compliment each other, Kanye's beats rock as does Com's lyrics, Finding Forever felt like BE part 2 to me ya know, i cant compare cos they felt like the continuation of the same message.. and that message is Common is the man !Ass Kissing Over, lol.

I prefer Be really, that was my favorite Common album (though I still need to catch up on EC). But FF was also dope to me, tho he let me down in the middle with the string on chick songs, they didn't really hold up well to me. The production was pretty dope, props to Ye. Like other people have been saying, Common is pretty much a grown man sound, which is not surprising, considering that he first drop in like 93-94. Hip hop starts out as young mans music, but I feel like you get a wholely different refined kind of sound as the rappers age who have been in it since they were like 20 and evolved with the game. See Nas, Outkast, Common, Jay (I guess), and their contemporaries. When people spend so much time in the game their art evolves to developed their unique style and by this point they've pretty much mastered it.
