Yur Worst Enemy
03-21-2003, 10:01 AM
Some of these rappers y'all pick must be family members or something. Are you related to them? That's the only reason I could think of in picking these niggas. Talib Kweli? Did you hear his freestyle in the Bassment? Ohmygod! It was pathetic! Has anybody ever heard of CANIBUS? I mean seriously. He may not be the best overall, but be real. Canibus is the best lyricist of all time. It's like he created the english language. His freestyles are unbelievable. ( I don't care about his loss to LL. At least he gave LL the battle of his life.) Y'all need to do y'all rap homework. And stop listening to someone's singles, and listen to their underground and freestyle shit. If y'all did, Jay-Z would be in everyones list. FACT.

SMFH...97% of the mothafuckas that posted here can't even form a coherent sentence, much less offer up a meaningful opinion on this subject...ya'll need to stfu and get yaself hooked on phonics instead of that crack...

I tried limiting this to 5 and it ended up being 20 - And I've just decided that since I've spent so much time doing this I'ma repost it as a thread of my own...

~1~ Jay-Z (most versatile emcee ever..freestyle, writing, commercial appeal, way above average lyricism, delivery, storytelling...not the best in any one category but the best combination)
~2~ Canibus (best lyricist ever, no one is better...delivery can be sickening sometimes, but not very often in my opinion...this man constantly drops fire)
~3~ Pharoahe Monch (ridiculous delivery, second to or maybe even tied with Pac's, lyrical genius only matched by Canibus)
~4~ Big Pun (had it all, sick breath control, tight delivery, extremely good lyricist)
~5~ Eminem (could be the greatest lyricist ever, but he's fallen off)
~6~ Nas (best storyteller of any emcee, very good lyricist, has no glaring weakness as an emcee)
~7~ Talib Kweli (lyrical architect, crazy writer who is very versatile)
~8~ GZA (lyrically on point like few others, flow was mad unique and memorable, best MC in the greatest rap group ever)
~9~ Biggie (ill flow, very good lyrics, but overrated)
~10~ Pac (greatest delivery and emotion of any rapper, lyrically there are hundreds of cats better)
~11~ Big L (career was way too short...vicious battle rapper and great writer, overcomes average vocabulary to the point where it's irrelevant)
~12~ Chino XL (one of the most clever writers ever, lyricism up there with Pharoahe and Canibus...delivery can get sickening too, but the man is an absolute genius lyrically and at times his voice is very good)
~13~ Rakim (way ahead of his time, most advanced lyricist of his day...tight delivery, rhyme scheme, everything...one of the best)
~14~ Mos Def (Insightful, skillfully crafted lyrics, smooth delivery...displays remarkable use of vocab)
~15~ Kool G Rap (I find him to be inconsistent, but as his best he's remarkable...very good flow and rhyme scheme is constant and repetitive without getting monotonous...powerful delivery and very unique sound)
~16~ Big Daddy Kane (On the same level as Rakim and G Rap...excellent writer, flowed very well, vocab and timing always on point)
~17~ Xzibit (would be higher if he maintained form of 1996-1998...in those days, very above average lyricist with grimy ass delivery and ability tell any story...very well rounded...won't comment on too much of his newer shit smh)
~18~ Ras Kass (At his best, a lyricist on a hair below Chino XL, Canibus, etc...usually on point flow wise, and voice is very good, distinct...plagued by inconsistency)
~19~ J-Live (probably the most underrated emcee ever...man is very unique, clear vocally, excellent storyteller...great writer overall; if you don't believe me, peep "Braggin' Writes")
~20~ Method Man (if only he could translate his complete dopeness on the Wu albums to an ill solo effort...yet another great emcee who fell off, back in his heyday few compared to one of the sickest flows imaginable, combined with above average lyricism and a grimy yet clear voice)

And KRS One?Talib kweli?Common??Cormega??Afura???

I think Death Row Knows who killed PAc, but is covered up because they all into alot of heavy shit that noone can ever knowthe shit they were in to and everybody would be Dead or locked the fuck up.Tupac will always be my number#1 inspiration 4 life- I think Tupac wanted to be in peace but he did not want to go out murdered,I'm A friend of Angela Ardis that wrote
Inside A Thugs Heart-and her and PAc was friends they were never a couple And the book is real so go cop that!!!!! I'm not scared to say Suge Knight Set Pac up- Is clear as day all the facts are true but in the long run he will get what he deserves.Tupac was my Idol, I loved him eveytime you look around someone is hating or got something bad to say about him,They just jealous because he was real and he could say whatever the fuck he wanted to say and what he said was true, He was a prophet and one of God's Greatest And he will be truly missed. And in his Interview He said he wanted out the rap game And he wanted to release a alblum every five years-The Alive theories I believe some are true I wouldn't lie Because I'm A true Tupac fan.Like they say the good die but he still making moneyand his music is #1
