Snale 10-19-2007, 10:16 AM i dig glassjaw man.
Darrel is an amazing artist.
Brofski 10-19-2007, 11:06 AM I hate that music.
Thrash is good, but not hardcore/grindcore
Snale 10-19-2007, 11:18 AM To each his own
Davie 10-19-2007, 04:54 PM i dig glassjaw man.
Darrel is an amazing artist.
Indeed he is man. One of my hero's....
You ever heard his other projects i.e. Head Automatica or House Of Blow??Really different from his Glassjaw stuff..
Snale 10-19-2007, 04:56 PM Yea i like both of those. Head automatica is in fact a whole nother side of him, and house of blow is alright, thought it could have been done better though.
ObnoxiousRapper 10-19-2007, 05:27 PM Don't think I listened to much hardcore. But I like some Post-Hardcore.Thursday is teh shit
.ScottishHead 10-19-2007, 06:49 PM I like real hardcore, not that punk shite.
Snale 10-19-2007, 07:07 PM What's real hardcore to you?
.ScottishHead 10-19-2007, 07:25 PM What's real hardcore to you?
_6Zjh9FmvAk
Snale 10-19-2007, 07:27 PM That's not hardcore, that's like progressive underground.
If you want to get technical im talking hardcore as in, breakdowns, breakbeats, 2 steps ect.
.ScottishHead 10-19-2007, 07:38 PM That's not hardcore, that's like progressive underground.
If you want to get technical im talking hardcore as in, breakdowns, breakbeats, 2 steps ect.
That's gabber/hardcore dance. It isn't even punk music.
Snale 10-19-2007, 07:44 PM yea it isn't which is why it's different, punk is skank and push pits
not slam dancing and two step, trust me i know my shit.
Maybe where you live it's different.
.ScottishHead 10-19-2007, 08:47 PM yea it isn't which is why it's different, punk is skank and push pits
not slam dancing and two step, trust me i know my shit.
Maybe where you live it's different.
No, I'm talkin about a whole diffrent genre of music. You're talkin about hardcore punk, I'm talking about hardcore dance/techno music.
D.Down 10-19-2007, 11:32 PM _6Zjh9FmvAk
/\Thats real hardcore.
And snale are you talking bout stuff like Hatebreed, Soulfly ect.....?
Snale 10-19-2007, 11:47 PM no.
Im talking about years spent cold, despised icon, forgetting tomorrow, suffer the living, suicide silcence, through the eyes of the dead
D.Down 10-20-2007, 12:11 AM Ah well im confused now.
Snale 10-20-2007, 12:41 AM Hardcore is a genre in it's own, that stuff he showed may be considered " harcore progressive" but it's not hardcore in it's true essence.
southpole 10-20-2007, 01:22 AM Snale tell me if "Bring me the horizon" is hardcore,
google the name to get to the myspace.
Snale 10-20-2007, 01:28 AM I know who they are, they're more mainstream now, but still would consider them of the hardcore genre.
southpole 10-20-2007, 01:30 AM Then i consider hardcore the same thing as you.
Snale 10-20-2007, 01:31 AM You from the coast?
Snale 10-20-2007, 01:32 AM Yea you are, idk that's what hardcore is plain and simple, idk what all the confusion is about. that shit the other dude showed us isn't hardcore it's like some techno cult bullshit.

You can't seriously be calling any of this shit hardcore punk.
Davie 10-28-2007, 05:59 PM hardcore punk (ie. Minor Threat,Black Flag) is very different from what people just call "Hardcore" today as it's more screaming vocals and breakdowns than the fast, shouty punk of old hardcore
...but there still is a legit hardcore scene that this metalcore faggotry plays no part in.
Demicaust 10-29-2007, 02:11 PM I dig glassjaw also... Also like that trust company and 12stones their older shit.....they all came out around the same time along with the used COUGH GAY they are
trust company were the first band i ever saw live..
trust company were the first band i ever saw live..
Sorry
Can we just turn this into a thread on Biohazard?
Sorry
yeah...they were supporting the band i actually went to see...so its not like i actually went to see them...its not like you need to apologise or anything..i feel sorry for your whole genre =/
I don't think you really know much about "my genre", bringing up a nu-metal band in a thread about hardcore.
i actually didnt bring them up...the guy who posted before me did..
so i'm guessing quite possibly...it could be you who doesnt know much right now?
Snale 10-31-2007, 03:05 PM To Z.A.
Old school hardcore is very different from current generation hardcore.
old- minor threat, comeback kid, ect.
New- the stuff i mentioned earlier.
I listen to both, the old stuff is more two steps and gang vocals, while the new stuff is more breakdowns and screams.
So dont walk in here and try to breakdown people's knowledge like you know anymore than anyone else, because you honestly probably dont.
So go butcher another thread bro.
Thanks
Ahaha @ Comeback Kid being mentioned in the same sentence as Minor threat when it comes to "old-school" like there has been no progress in 20 years.
Seriously, I laugh @ your knowledge.
Snale 10-31-2007, 04:05 PM actually compare minor threat and comeback kid, to even a new band like casey jones or hoods.
Than laugh, because old school is the genre of hardcore he was stereotyping, with gang vocals/chants, agressive music.
When compared to the newer types of hardcore/metalcore, it's nothing alike, which is why people are arguing, because theirs so many different types of a single genre, that it can be split up several ways.
D.Down 11-02-2007, 08:24 PM Buckethead = http://funkyheart.com/images/stories/Borat/verynice.gif
D.Down 11-02-2007, 09:05 PM Lol i didnt expect reps I was stating tha oblivious, but fuck, he can the play guitar aye.
I got alot of his music videos i taped from a tv show.
whoremoans 11-20-2007, 06:00 PM i listen to with masterpiece, bane, stretch armstrong, nodes of ranvier, remmbering never, throwdown, love is red.
i think both sides, the more true to old school bands and the newer, more screamy bands, both have validity, but i dont like the things that do get called hardcore that arents even close.
Snale 11-27-2007, 06:16 PM true.
Urban-Shredder 12-08-2007, 07:29 PM Job for a Cowboy sucks SO hard. No rhythm to any of their music. They are almost as bad as Waking the Cadaver.
Snale 12-09-2007, 02:04 AM Job for a Cowboy sucks SO hard. No rhythm to any of their music. They are almost as bad as Waking the Cadaver.
lol waking the cadaver.
Do you listen to shattered realm? They're good.
!aBsTraKT! 12-10-2007, 06:30 PM When I consider these genres, I consider some of the bands that I have listed below. The new generation of 'hardcore metal' with the faggot breakdowns, terrible rhythms and shitty vocals, definitely is not what I dig. I would never put Comeback Kid in the same category as minor threat, that seems retarded. I wouldn't call the modern youthxcrew shit hardcore either.
Hardcore Punk:
Minor Threat
Bad Brains
Teen Idols
Agnostic Front
Misfits
Black Flag
Refused
Hardcore Metal/Grindcore:
Botch
Coalesce
Shai Hulud
Ed Gein
Pig Destroyer
Textbook Traitors
Majority Rule
Page 99
Dillinger Escape Plan
Human Remains
There is certainly a genre called hardcore/hardstyle/gabber, which is a subgenre of electronica. This genre is for sure a larger genre globally, than hardcore metal or punk is. Metal and punk is a more popular genre of music in the States than electronica, so Americans tend to think that hardcore punk and metal is the true hardcore, and hardcore electronica is 'cult shit' or whatever you said.
Snale 12-10-2007, 11:35 PM I agree, hardcore is just to broad of a term.
southpole 12-15-2007, 11:41 PM I'm going to see Norma Jean this Friday.

Pope Diddy 01-13-2008, 02:41 PM Fw7YsZFksBQ
fuckin hell ... that was terrible
when i first seen this thread i thought it was about hardcore dance/rave music
but that music was truly awful ... so i'm guessing the rest of them will be aswell ...
DunksAreDead 01-13-2008, 06:52 PM To all their own opinion, I have a wide appreciation of music, some of the things they do with double bass on the drums are not easy at all, but terribly difficult, I will show you one more video from winds of plague with insane double bass, if it's not to your liking then boo hoo, not everyone agrees on everything correct?
In my opinion Cam'Ron is absolute garbage, imho he sucks major dick.
Have a good day.
DunksAreDead 01-13-2008, 07:02 PM pCIENTU00GA
At the end of the day... it's not very enjoyable.

Snale 01-13-2008, 07:25 PM I like cameron and white chapel.
But i love wee jesus more!
DunksAreDead 01-13-2008, 08:07 PM =) you are cute, thats all, upset? Not the smallest bit, amused to see your piss poor reply is BRILLIANT
Pope Diddy 01-13-2008, 08:20 PM not really a piss poor reply because i gave it no thought at all
i just gave my thoughts on the genre of music i've never heard before and kept it moving ... i don't need to go on about summit irrelevant to the thread especially by saying stuff like "(insert artist name here) sucks MAJOR dick"
i just let you make yourself look like a idiot for saying shite like that
carry on
Headshotz Havoc 01-13-2008, 09:16 PM Hardcore is the best, Darrell is great!
JerrodThomas 01-13-2008, 09:19 PM straightedge!
Headshotz Havoc 01-13-2008, 09:20 PM yea them aint badd either!
Snale 01-14-2008, 02:53 AM yea them aint badd either!
Obviously you dont know your head from your asshole. Either does Jerrod.
Straight edge is a lifestyle/movement representing a drug free life style, you'll often see things like XXX or SxE that's what it stands for.
Straight edge has influence on some band's lyrics obviously there are straight edge bands out there, but 'Straightedge' isn't a band.
Just filling you in on that.
