The Toadies are one of my favorite bands of all time. They weren't the "coolest" looking group of Texans (Skinny, tall white lead singer, lesbian-looking bassist, a drummer that looks to be in his 40's...) but they released two of the best albums of the 90's, Rubberneck and Hell Below/Stars Above.
Rubberneck is their masterpiece.

Their song "Tyler" is one of my favorite rock songs ever, even though I'm still not sure whether it is a love song about longing, or if its just about raping a girl. Either way, its an amazing track.

So listen/watch these videos, then immediately go get their albums. You won't regret it.

Also, if you like these, also check out Todd Lewis's (the lead singer) other band, The Burden Brothers, which are also very good.

These bands really aren't slept on, but as far as 90s alternative goes they're usually overlooked. Back in the 90s, you could make good rock music and not have it be violent...and not be completely gay! Nowadays...such a shame.

This gem is almost 10 years old. They never got a chance to release this song because of problems with their record label Interscope.

In December they are re-uniting. The Burden Brothers are on hiatus. There is talk of new music.

Pepper is well the best out of all them songs, FB. I happen to like their work on the Black Sabbath pisstake LP Locust Abortion Technician best though.
