View Full Version : Best Band of the 90's Most Underrated 10-29-2007, 11:45 AM What's your favorite band from teh 90s Pope Diddy 10-29-2007, 12:34 PM smh at you leaving out Oasis ... that list is shit apart from the Chilli Peppers .ScottishHead 10-29-2007, 12:48 PM I voted Metallica, but I would have voted Oasis if they were up there. WoLL 10-29-2007, 03:39 PM Pfft @ any "band of the w/e decade" list. I don't have a favourite band out of any of 'em. MCD 10-29-2007, 05:10 PM they're all shit apart from metallica... AlphaOmega123 10-31-2007, 02:51 AM Shitty list but out of that one probably pearl jam... I liked godsmack's first album but they got tired after that and lost what originality they had. They are a decent rhythim guitar band but honestly not someone who should go up for the best. Chilli peppers to me are unique but not the greatest. Metallica fell on their faces after load and besides they started in the 80s. You can't count them, if you count metallica you should count better bands from that era such as faith no more. Patton oswald still makes dope fucking music.. Even his trip hop experiment peeping tom was sick. http://youtube.com/watch?v=9pcvBFFflEc AlphaOmega123 10-31-2007, 03:08 AM uh make that mike patton not patton oswald the comedian ROFL Tommy Bunz 10-31-2007, 09:26 AM What a fucking terrible list....Blink 182??!?!?! Are you fucking kidding me? Scientologist 10-31-2007, 09:39 AM Oasis... ObnoxiousRapper 10-31-2007, 09:55 AM Godsmack? :jerry: .Nirvana's my favorite from that list. WoLL 10-31-2007, 12:52 PM Nirvana just wished they were the Pixies. RfC~RenFra~RfC 10-31-2007, 04:01 PM every single one is shit. mad gothic rock bands lol if i had to choose 1 it would have to be red hot chillie peppers WoLL 11-01-2007, 02:39 PM I pray that "lol" meant you weren't being serious. .ScottishHead 11-01-2007, 02:41 PM ^doubt it "aw naw man you pyur listen ae that goffick shite" It's basically an ignorance that exists here Will. Tommy Bunz 11-01-2007, 10:19 PM Nirvana just wished they were the Pixies. While Nirvana was obviously heavily influenced by the Pixies, you can hardly stand by your statement, the two bands are very different. Nirvana drew their style from a multitude of different bands, such as the Pixies, The Meat Puppets, The Vaselines, Big Black, Green River, The Beatles, etc. I'm a huge fan of both bands by the way. D.Down 11-02-2007, 08:27 AM Red Hot Chilli Peppers I voted Chilli pepers over Metallica simply bcoz i enjoy them better. This is on of my favorite songs ever. VLOQY4LZSaQ Lol at green day, blink 182 bellyB 11-02-2007, 12:11 PM Wu-tang.....they should count as a band WoLL 11-02-2007, 02:27 PM While Nirvana was obviously heavily influenced by the Pixies, you can hardly stand by your statement, the two bands are very different. Nirvana drew their style from a multitude of different bands, such as the Pixies, The Meat Puppets, The Vaselines, Big Black, Green River, The Beatles, etc. I'm a huge fan of both bands by the way. I was being a bit flippant with the statement I made. You're right 'bout Nirvana taking a lot of influences. I mean, they covered "Lake of Fire" and got Steve Albini of Big Black to produce In Utero. Cobain even said something about the band just being Cheap Trick with louder guitars, once. However, the bass playing of Kim Deal = a giant influence on the band. The bassline of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" is eerily similar to one found in the track "Debaser", for example. What Nirvana did was bring all these influences together to create something that, some might say, is more accessible. I'm a fan of both bands too, by the way. Just I'm more of a Pixies guy, haha. And @ D. Down. Green Day's "Dookie" album is a punk classic. |
