i was listening to 'Ced-Gee (Delta Force One)' and i always loved the sample and it's used on quite a few songs so i went and found the name of the song sampled ...

Bob James - Nautilus

VcDoFUBAJYo

Jeru’s 'My Mind Spray' is probably the most recognizable

Dont let the smooth taste fool ya, one of hip-hops most used and abused samples comes from this classic joint from ya boy Bobby J.

So many different parts of this song have been sampled by SO many artists on so many songs its ridiculous; thats really just speaks on the dopeness of this record tho…

“You should be tossed in a pit full of unfortunate vocalists
Niggaz, I coulda wrote your shit; I had off-time, was bored wit this
I coulda made my double-LP, just by samplin’ different parts of Nautilus
Still came five on the charts with zero audience”

I knew that shit sounded familiar

Somebody in the comments for the vid said "I'll Wax Anybody" by Tim Dog is the best suse of the sample. I love that song (didn't know it was from the Bob Dylan song) and it would probably have to be up there for me as well.

Didn't know Follow The Leader or Let The Rhythm Hit Em sampled it either, 2 of my favorite Rakim songs

As i'm reading down this list:

Daytona 500 (favorite Ghost song except for maybe Nutmeg), Stray Bullet (2nd favorite OK song), Live At The Barbeque, Word Is Bond, Children's Story, Double Trouble, and those 3 Ultramagnetic songs.

Holy shit, so many great songs have sampled it, you learn something new everyday

Speaking of Bob Dylan, I need to get some of his music (Jack I know you listen to him, recommend me an album :@ )

Impressive music, the melody between the different instruments is never crowded or muddled.
Yeah people often don't know these obscure songs that get sampled and it's a shame only after someone else uses it does it get recognized.

I love finding the songs that were sampled for other beats, the obscure songs though. It's interesting to hear how someone produced a beat after listening to a track. Kanye's the king at that, he finds so many obscure songs it's absurd, idk how you hear of these kinda songs haha

Digging through crates.
It has to be eerie doing that if you're a beginner tryin to make it though.
You think one day you'll be huge and that's exactly what those people who were never heard thought also.

I'm not Jack, but my Dad is the biggest Dylan fanatic of all time so I basically grew up on his shit. It really depends on what you're looking for as to what album to recommend, as Dylan has an enormous discography and has done many variations of folk rock, hell he even went gospel for a few albums.

My personal favorite is either Blonde on Blonde or Blood On The Tracks, but he probably has no less than 15 legitimate classic albums.

Highway 61
Time Out Of Mind
The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan
Bringing It All Back Home
Slow Train Coming
The Times They Are A'Changing

^^All would get my highest recommendations.

Sorry for hijacking the thread btw, its a good one
