I went and copped Big Doe Rehab Killuminati96 01-23-2008, 02:11 PM Shit I agree too many people buying garbage albums instead of the good ones. .ScottishHead 01-23-2008, 02:20 PM Not talkin to me, I bought his album a couple of days after it was released and got 8 Diagrams at christmas. D^Coy 01-23-2008, 02:26 PM lmao, every artist gets pissed when people download their shit before it reaches the shelves. Eminem did, Tech N9ne did, Jay Z did, and a shit load of other did. They bring their money in through concerts and shit, not cds =/. PERRY 01-23-2008, 03:15 PM lmfao, i feel like he is speaking directly to me.... haha Shift 01-23-2008, 03:27 PM lmao, every artist gets pissed when people download their shit before it reaches the shelves. Eminem did, Tech N9ne did, Jay Z did, and a shit load of other did. They bring their money in through concerts and shit, not cds =/. true but if no body is buying the music then what reason will a label have to keep an artist :/ PERRY 01-23-2008, 03:33 PM lmfao, i feel like he is speaking directly to me.... haha although i did buy fish scale Bakke 01-23-2008, 04:38 PM Haha, this video was actually pretty effective.. I bet some guys went straight to the store after seeing this ^^ Bigsmokes 01-23-2008, 04:43 PM i feel bad for Ghost a lil Sky Loaf 01-23-2008, 04:49 PM i feel bad for Ghost a lil should feel bad for EVERY music artist chrisyrohan 01-23-2008, 05:34 PM so did i Florida Breeze 01-23-2008, 05:52 PM I'm going to see Wu-Tang on Friday, maybe I'll throw Ghostface some pennies. Ama-gi 01-23-2008, 05:57 PM I bought that shit and it was dope. It's cool when you're really strugglin and you have no option but to cop the bootleg you know... But 90% of these internet muh'fuckas know they have the $12 to cop the cd at the store or buy it for $8 used. Florida Breeze 01-23-2008, 06:01 PM ^ I really don't feel bad for these dudes though. There's new ways to make money, and Wu-Tang was actually pioneers in that aspect (Wu-Wear, Movies etc.)...and I feel even less bad when I'm paying $50 to go see Wu-Tang this Friday night. There isn't money in selling CD's anymore...I dedicate this song to Ghostface... li6wVApz7GE TonySt4rk 01-23-2008, 06:01 PM Boo-hoo Does Ghostface pay MY bills? He's acting like its a fucking job to rap, like its all about the money. Florida Breeze 01-23-2008, 06:05 PM ^ Word 16 Barz 01-23-2008, 06:31 PM I'm tired of every week a Wu Tang member is bitching about something. These dudes were popular in the mid-late 90's, they had their time and when they were on top, people weren't hating on them every week. They need to stop complaining and stop hating on other artists and go out there and change their style up and appeal to the new listeners. I know they don't want to "Sacrifice their music for money" but damnit, if you ain't gonna change up then stop complaining about no one buying ya records and about all these new artists getting money cuz they are in touch with the youth. Conz 01-23-2008, 07:20 PM Go listen to a Wack Bundles RIP mixtape joff 01-23-2008, 07:34 PM ghost`s got a point , put yourself in his shoes he`s puttin in work n bringing out good music , he must feel let down like it`s falling on deaf ears........ X-NINE 01-23-2008, 08:02 PM Like D-Coy said, THE MONEY IS IN THE SHOWS/TOURING......So theres no excuse for Ghostface to be ranking on niggas for not copping the album, when he didnt go out doing shows to at least promote it HIMSELF, even tho Def Jam didnt do shit for him...... The only way you'll make some change off of cd's is if you're independent, followed by some shows, When you're major, you gotta keep pushing yourself and do more shows, you cant just sit there waiting for a check of lil money that isnt gonna pay your bills..... WHY HAVENT NIGGAS UNDERSTOOD THIS BY NOW??? :smh: aevo 01-23-2008, 08:53 PM Well, I would have given Wu $50 at their recent Vegas concert. But apparently "wu for the kids" doesn't include anyone under 21. Yea, I know, it's probably the venues fault, not Wu's, but either way, that's $50 less they're making... And... meh... I paid for 8 diagrams. ~Filosofical P~ 01-23-2008, 08:57 PM 50 is a real artist. He doesn't give a fuck if you d/l it as long as you hear it. Ama-gi 01-23-2008, 09:04 PM kill yourself ~Filosofical P~ 01-23-2008, 09:11 PM kill yourself U MAD cuz fiddy can sing better than you? X-NINE 01-23-2008, 11:18 PM I smell beef :( groundfisher 01-24-2008, 08:16 AM It's a bit rich rhyming so much about crime and making a living off it and then complaining about illegal downloads. I mean come down off it, this is Ghost's version of candid camera. Ghost isn't complaining about downloads; he's complaining about poor sales. And he reckons the sales are the result of downloading. Well how come some artists go platinum? There's more to slow sales than just downloading. Having said that, I bought Big Doe for the car but I downloaded it too. It's just quicker than ripping from CD. Bakke 01-24-2008, 10:22 AM Boo-hoo Does Ghostface pay MY bills? He's acting like its a fucking job to rap, like its all about the money. Since when did rapping stop being a job? Drastik Da God 01-24-2008, 10:58 AM I'm going to see Wu-Tang on Friday, maybe I'll throw Ghostface some pennies. YOU TOO? Swordsman 01-24-2008, 11:05 AM I'm gonna hit the record shop tomorrow. Not going to cop Ghost though. Kenn Starr - Starr Status Little Brother - The Minstrel Show The Foreign Exchange - Connected Bigsmokes 01-24-2008, 11:39 AM I'm gonna hit the record shop tomorrow. Not going to cop Ghost though. Kenn Starr - Starr Status Little Brother - The Minstrel Show The Foreign Exchange - Connected yea i already have that shit... its pretty good Rdawg 01-24-2008, 07:16 PM ghostface can suck a nut. Florida Breeze 01-24-2008, 11:18 PM YOU TOO? You know it. I'm getting a hotel room down on South Beach too, we're probably going to hit up Gold Rush or something afterwards. Look for Slick Chadwick! It's just quicker than ripping from CD. great post, reps. I'm tired of every week a Wu Tang member is bitching about something. No one is selling records nowadays. It's not our faults as the consumer though. We don't have an obligation to shell out $20 for a fucking album every week. There's thousands of artists putting out thousands of CD's every year. Do these record companies and artists really expect every fucking album to sell? You also have to consider... A lot of what put these rappers/rock bands in PLATINUM status without any effort back in the day was that teenagers and children were getting their parents to buy these CD's, because albums used to mean something! They used to be trendy and cutting edge. Now you have iPods, cell phones, mp3 players, blackberries and what not... That's what kids want nowadays! They don't beg their parents to buy them some shitty CD with a bunch of filler garbage (not that the quality prevented teeny boppers from purchasing this shit before) Technology and prioririties of the consumer have changed... These musicians and record companies are running a BUSINESS... ADAPT AND PROFIT, OR SHUT THE FUCK UP. That's it. LL Kool-Aid 01-24-2008, 11:35 PM Most $17/ 23 Track Albums now in day has like 5 good songs itz a waste of fucking money to me. I feel where he coming from but he will still be on MTV Cribs with fucking Bentleys and shit. He a real nigga but Most albums ain't worth Coping not referring to Ghostface just albums overall MasSGyozA 01-25-2008, 04:03 AM i don't think i downloaded Big Doe Rehab, actually, was it any good? if i wanted it though, i wouldn't hesitate. You're rich as fuck Ghostface! D^Coy 01-25-2008, 04:42 AM Another problem with most rappers these days is that they fail to realize they can't make all of their profit off of just making CDs..... Esocra 01-25-2008, 09:10 AM I haven't bought a Ghostface album since "Ironman" & "Supreme Clientel" and I'm not buying any of his material unless he brings back that fire shit! 8 Diagrams > Big Doe Drastik Da God 01-25-2008, 01:47 PM You know it. I'm getting a hotel room down on South Beach too, we're probably going to hit up Gold Rush or something afterwards. Look for Slick Chadwick! ROW K or R in the ORCHESTRA look for the hispanic guy wearing tims, a black hoodie and a black skull cap with hair coming out of it in all directions, with blunts being lit constantly and a probably a gram of coca. holler atchur boy starting fights. [jD] 01-25-2008, 03:16 PM Since when did rapping stop being a job? It SHOULDN'T be that way H_O_V 01-25-2008, 03:24 PM Shit, he keepin it 100. [jD] 01-25-2008, 03:26 PM "I made this to bump in ya ride, or burn it off the internet, and bump it outside, nigga we keepin it live, we keepin it live burn it off the fuckin internet and bump it outside...(yeaa niggaa).." "Burn my music, burn my music off the internet, if you don't you a pussy..." [jD] 01-25-2008, 03:27 PM So if it's a job he needs to get with his boss and figure something out to get a raise. If he considers himself "self employeed" then he would be independant, which he isn't so...you lose. |
