I'm confused. Is it the beat that causes rappers to sound like this? If he was rapping over an old school beat would he sound better? or is it the production that gave it that old school sound? Is this what maturing sounds like, because I'm with the others who are calling it a snorefest. I guess I just really am longing for that old school sound of hip hop.

i could see the point if you wir 30 odd and have been listening to Rakim and hip-hop for countless years and with the so called state it's in now then say it

your 15 you either just found out about him or started listeing to him in the last year or 2 ago

actually it is refreshing because it wasn't the status quo topics... no one said its ra's best or that Ra is here to save us all... just a good record... nothing phenomenal... but a good record... can't for the album if its a teaser...

The beat is a bit annoying.

The song however is alright, it just didn't jump out like a Rakim song to me for some reason.

I can't quite put my finger on it though, maybe it was just the lack of emotion or emphasis. Seemed kind of like he was rapping just to rhyme. Well at least to me it did.

It was an okay song, nothing to get excited about. It's strange to me that someone else posted up new KRS and that was an okay song too but got bagged with many calls for KRS to retire etc. WTF is up with that?

"We're stuck in the time of drought/nothing to rhyme about" that summed up this song for me. Rakim didn't have much to say.

I'm still waiting to hear KRS guest on a Rakim album. But I'm also looking forward to G. Rap more than KRS or Rakim, first time I've ever said that. I won't buy any of them without a listen first.
