RUMOR: Jay-Z & Nas Collabo Album In The Works?
http://www.xxlmag.com/online/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/jaynas150.jpgWhile rumors have been circulating for months about Jay-Z’s post-Def Jam future, an item in the New York Daily News‘ Rush & Molloy column today posits a new theory. The gossip writers claim to have heard that Jay is partnering with Nas for a new album of duets called The Kings Of Hip-Hop. They go on to say that it will be released in early 2009 on Jay-Z’s new label, Carter Music Group, although they do not speculate on who Jay will partner with for the label. Nas is currently signed to Def Jam for a four-album deal, of which he has completed one album, 2006’s Hip-Hop Is Dead.

.ScottishHead 02-25-2008, 03:29 PM I couldn't care less..
Ohini Jonez 02-25-2008, 03:30 PM would suck... Nas would lyrically outclass Jay while Jay outentertains Nas... it's like hearing your high ass uncles singing temptations at the family reunion...
give us Nigger Nas... Jay don't do anything else... please...
Crackavelli 02-25-2008, 04:34 PM i think it'd be dope
but i'm more concerned for nigger
BoneStarr 02-25-2008, 04:38 PM Meh... I'm happy with 'Black Republican'...
Fuck any new shit they wanna bring out, I've lost interest in both of them to be honest.
B-Raff 02-25-2008, 04:38 PM Won't happen because they both know it would never live up to the hype.
Nirvana 02-25-2008, 04:45 PM I honestly, In my opinion think Nas and Jay don't sound well together for some reason.
Possibly because they still secretly hate each other and i can just sense it
or they're trying to out do each other on records but fail miserably from trying so hard.
Either way this album will be shitty, In my opinion of course.
Killuminati96 02-25-2008, 05:09 PM I think it would be cool but I don't know if the album would be as good as people expect but you hey you may never know.
Ohini Jonez 02-25-2008, 05:10 PM if it's as good as everyone on here thinks it will suck...and that wouldn't be a dissapointment...
.epic. 02-25-2008, 05:59 PM I love the people saying...I could care less.
But if it drops youll be all over that shit. Like seriously, why would this be a bad thing. You all need to chill. It would be dope as fuck if they did an album together. Thered def be 3 or 4 classic(and i mean true classic) songs.
This album would not be shitty. And to that bitch that said "Jay don't do anything" your fuckin out of your mind. American Gangster was a dope album. Thatd be like saying to Pharoahe Monch..."Stop this rapping stuff"
So lets review: It would be a sick album. Why say you dont want it...what else new you goin listen to? Whatev....both these artists are too mainstream for Rapworld bitches who have to listen to Aesop Rock who fuckin sucks.
Captain Planet 02-25-2008, 08:31 PM it won't happen and it's a terrible idea
it's too late in their careers and nowadays Jay needs idea's and trends to stick himself to and Nas is just coming up with contreversial album titles for marketing angles
2 of my favorite rappers but i do not want this to happen in any way shape or form
zero, and i mean zero chemistry together on record
Dan99 02-25-2008, 11:11 PM These are two of the greatest hip-hop artist, so I don't know what's up with all the hatin'
Crackavelli 02-25-2008, 11:56 PM because they dont mix on a track lol..they just dont
their styles dont complement each other
Esocra 02-26-2008, 03:53 PM It won't work because Jay-Z can't rap. I'd much rather hear a Nas AZ album collabo or a Nas Cormega album collabo.
Jayant 02-26-2008, 07:17 PM nas, az, premo.. when the fucks it happening.. fuck jay
Florida Breeze 02-26-2008, 07:52 PM It'll happen, and it'll be hot as hell.
I said they should have done it a couples years back and call it "Kings of New York"...at least they're going with "Kings of Hip Hop"...
How can anyone not be excited about this?
Ya'll get excited over new collaborations of rappers from the 1980's but not two of the best to ever pick up the mic?
Boooo..
Dan99 02-26-2008, 07:56 PM I think most of these people on this website like underground>maintream, maybe that's why?

if this was a 2002 i'd be doing back flips and all sorts of circus shite
but not now ... i just don't want it to happen ...
Jayant 02-26-2008, 10:03 PM it's all up to the production, they need that gritty raw sound, not this HHID or KC/AG mellow bullshit
M.Silver 02-26-2008, 10:14 PM would suck... Nas would lyrically outclass Jay while Jay outentertains Nas... it's like hearing your high ass uncles singing temptations at the family reunion...
give us Nigger Nas... Jay don't do anything else... please...
i completely agree with you.
Crackavelli 02-26-2008, 11:16 PM i dont feel much towards this
it has potential to be sick, but i dont have a lot of faith in this
50/50 right now for me
Estate Captain 02-26-2008, 11:21 PM would suck... Nas would lyrically outclass Jay while Jay outentertains Nas... it's like hearing your high ass uncles singing temptations at the family reunion...

CO MOTHERFUCKING SIGNED
Camel faced mother fucker choke on some hay.
Wu Gambino 02-27-2008, 01:54 AM I would look forward to a Jay-Z/Nas album.
Dan99 02-27-2008, 03:11 AM wow, I'd think that Jay would out lyric NaS, but NaS just keep it raw.
Australian™ 02-27-2008, 03:21 AM ^ Jay out lyric nas?? No fuckin way...
And I agree with Breeze and Epic, why would you possibly not want this to happen? You lose nothing by them bringing it out, and most likely it will be a classic album, if not it will at least have some great songs and even if it has no good songs, most of you motherfuckers will just download it anyway so you lose nothing.
RobiSuicide 02-27-2008, 03:29 AM I don't like people saying Jay don't do nothing. Jay's last album was better then Nas and his Hip-Hop is dead bullshit. Plus everyone knows i don't really care for either of them with exceptions of a few albums from both.
Dan99 02-27-2008, 03:30 AM ^^^Both Albums were better than 80% of other rap albums out
Ohini Jonez 02-27-2008, 03:31 AM ^^^Both Albums were better than 80% of other rap albums out
that ain't nothin to brag about...
Australian™ 02-27-2008, 03:33 AM What you talkin bout, theres been dozens of great albums brought out recently.
Dan99 02-27-2008, 03:35 AM Your Expectations are way too high for these artist, remember they been in the game for like 10 years, what more do you want
Ohini Jonez 02-27-2008, 03:36 AM they some mainstream niggas so I put them in they lane... besides AG sucked like fuck except for I Know... and Nas shitted on Jay on Success... the only problem with Nas was beats on HHID... the problem with Jay on AG was no groundbreaking subject matter, none of that shit... it was a half ass over hyped album, and I hope he didn't pay the Hitmen more than 25K a beat, cuz it was a waste... Just Blaze and Ye would have laced him proper... and he needs Bink! back...
Dan99 02-27-2008, 03:40 AM 2 years from now, you'll be like damn, that was a good album (AG)
Australian™ 02-27-2008, 03:44 AM also dude is high as fuck in the video
Dan99 02-27-2008, 03:46 AM also dude is high as fuck in the video
Wrong thread brother
RobiSuicide 02-27-2008, 03:47 AM ^^^Both Albums were better than 80% of other rap albums out
Bullshit, if you talking mainstream wise get off that shit. Theres a difference between rap and hip-hop. I happen to enjoy both (in some cases). I don't care about my reputation or not being a "real hip-hop head". I don't like nas. I don't like jay. I think there great rappers i just can't personally enjoy there music. They have skill. Nas is a great lyricist. Jay well he good at rapping about other peoples life about shit he's never been in (how do people respect that, yet get mad when some one else portray a thug). I thought American Gangster was dope i have diffrent tastes though. I'm tired of nas using controversy to sell records. He don't need a album named nigger or hip-hop is dead to sell. If the musics good, people will buy it.
Ohini Jonez 02-27-2008, 04:31 AM 2 years from now, you'll be like damn, that was a good album (AG)
two years from now I'll breaking up weed, lookin under saying 'damn, that's American Gangster'...
