TonySt4rk 03-19-2008, 12:47 PM You're the man.
Wash Your Cock 03-19-2008, 01:19 PM Yeah it's quite good, not amazing/classic or anything. Definately got some good production on it. Worth a download, that's for sure.
It's also nice to get a fresh J Dilla beat! :D
TonySt4rk 03-19-2008, 01:24 PM The beat ain't really new, Copywrite used it on his 06 Mixtape "The JerK". It's a raw beat though
The whole production is dope as hell as anyone would expect from a Stones Throw LP, and Guilty doesn't wow me lyrically, but he holds the listeners attention, and kinda reminds me of a weaker version of Sean Price.
Good stuff.
Wu Gambino 03-19-2008, 02:37 PM Is this the advance or retail?
Quale 03-19-2008, 02:47 PM thanks, this should be good, at least the production
TonySt4rk 03-19-2008, 02:50 PM Is this the advance or retail?
Retail
Swordsman 03-19-2008, 04:01 PM I've actually heard a few bad comments about this.. Which I find extremely weird when I look at the lineup for the album.. Whoa.. Gonna download now.
Drastik Da God 03-22-2008, 07:45 PM This shit did me right on a 45 minute car ride to Hollywood. 2 blunts later and I'm still remembering one liners.
Killer Cosgrove 03-22-2008, 07:58 PM I was hearing Madlib really fell of on ths album....Still gonna check it out though 'cos I like Simpson.
Quasimoto 03-22-2008, 08:07 PM I looked at the production on this and creamed myself. Thanks man.
Killer Cosgrove 03-22-2008, 08:25 PM Although it was good, it could and should have been SO much better.
"She Won't Stay At Home" had the potential to be the best track but it wasn't long enough... that was my problem with most songs, they were too short. The beats were all a bit plain at times.
I expected a lot more exciting/bouncy beats like "Get Bitches"... but NO. That just wasn't happening.
On the bright side I did like~
"She Won't Stay At Home"
"Get Bitches"
"Almighty Dreadnaughtz"
"The Future"
"Yikes"
Overall: 6.5/10.
To sum the whole album up in one word - Dissapointing.
.ScottishHead 03-22-2008, 09:02 PM Is this any good? I'm a fan of Madlib when he's doing proper beats and not that boom clap shit with weak drums. I've not heard much of Guilty Simpson either so don't know how entertaining he is as an emcee.
Killer Cosgrove 03-22-2008, 09:35 PM I would comment...but you wouldn't give a fuck what I said
lol.
Estate Captain 03-22-2008, 10:24 PM I was hearing Madlib really fell of on ths album....Still gonna check it out though 'cos I like Simpson.
You said Styles is boring:D
This nigga is a one man snooze fest.
Swordsman 03-23-2008, 05:10 AM After one listen I think it's a decent release. I agree with Kosgrove, the production wasn't all that.. He should have chosen some hot beats like he did with Clap Your Hands, Man's World and Make It Fast. This album had its share of good cuts, no doubt, just nothing very memorable. And Killa.. Did you not like Kill 'Em or Run?
Quale 03-23-2008, 09:51 AM 7/10
I like more than half beats, don't like the eastern ones from Beat Conducta in India and Oxperiment and a few other, a few unnecessary choruses
lyrically good, subject matter is brag rap, and like the name says ghetto life, there's a decent amount of intelligent rhymes, his voice bores
Killer Cosgrove 03-23-2008, 05:06 PM After one listen I think it's a decent release. I agree with Kosgrove, the production wasn't all that.. I liked "Run".....did I not list that? ahh well. I thought the beat on "Kill 'Em" was a bit flat throughout....It was good, but just not what I was personally looking for.....
And aye whoever said about Simpson being boring....on second listen of all these songs you're quite right. Lol. Same monotone voice all the time, but some beats save him.
Swordsman 03-23-2008, 07:46 PM Can't wait for the project Guilty, Black Milk and Sean Price got coming along. Album's dropping this year (during the 1st quarter since I last heard about it..).
TonySt4rk 03-23-2008, 07:54 PM If the songs on that album sound anything like "Run", I'll be happy.
Killer Cosgrove 03-23-2008, 09:45 PM Shit.
Never knew about that! Hopefully it'll bring out the best of Guilty like "Run" did.

Should be good if it's like Run.
Swordsman 03-24-2008, 06:02 PM Should be good if it's like Run.
Definitely. According to an interview with Black Milk made sometime during last year's October in Kingsize, they had finished around 10-12 tracks by that time.
Killer Cosgrove 03-24-2008, 08:12 PM So we should be expecting this, end of next month....
maybe?
MasSGyozA 03-25-2008, 05:01 PM Sometimes i still think everything just needs another listen.
but that being said:
The Coup - Party Music
i remember getting this right about the time i was peaking off the awesomeness from Kill My Landlord & Steal This Album, two cds that remain among my favorites. and i was so excited to listen to it and jam.
but it was so bad. like two good tracks.
