Detroiter killed in rap battle
George Hunter / The Detroit News
DETROIT -- Police are looking for a Westland man who killed a rapper this week after taking offense to something said during a rap contest.

The incident happened Monday in a home located in the 180000 block of Bradford on the city's east side. Police say there was a rap battle, in which participants come up with insulting rhymes aimed at their competitors.

Police say 28-year-old Antoine Tramble became angry at something a 27-year-old rapper said, so he left the home and then returned with a gun. Tramble opened fire, killing the man, police said. The victim's name has not been released.

Tramble then fled the home and escaped in a blue conversion van, investigators said.

Thats fucked up but whats the point of going into a rap battle if your going to get offended by what your opponent saids?

wow...

this is even more sad considering the point of the hip hop movement/culture was to stop the violence and channel the energy into more productive purposes...

Its easy to get humiliated but character is more important then respect.

The dudes who clown you for losing wont be there 2-3 years from now yet niggas who are cowards take everything for how it is right then. Shit is sad.

Ive been in 3-4 battles live where someone swung* never me, or against me luckily* and to 8-10 parties where it happened, same not me, or against me thankfully.

I dont understand dudes that let personal pride overload there whole future and shit.

I wanted to bust plenty of people in my life, but being a former college football player( so in shape, and stronger then the average dude) I realize all Ima do is get myself in trouble. Plus if you get me in a battle, im gonna go even harder or at least try to.

I mean not everyones like me, but most people are. The dudes that take it that serious are probably former textcees who aren't used to people hating on them lol
