View Full Version : Can Kobe beat MJ's Career High??
Kobe just hit 55 points against Jordan and the Wizards. One point below his career high. He reached a franchise high wit 42 points in the first half. Kobe is having an extrodinary season. But the question is do you think he can hit 70 points?? Michael Jordan only reached 69 on the Bulls. But come on now, Kobe is only 24. He can top 70 in his years to come.
What's your opinion on this??
Phaze 03-29-2003, 06:12 PM i think he can 70 isnt that much...daivd robinson hit 71 when he was in his peak so i beleive he can
BkBrawla 04-14-2003, 08:28 PM YEA ALSO AGREE KOBE IS THE MOTHERFUCKIN NIGGA..JORDAN ..FUCK THAT NIGGA DUDE IS WASH UP...THE REAL DEAL IS KOBE AND YEA HE WILL GET TO 70 POINT NO PROBLEM HE WOULD OF AGAINST THE DENVER NUGGETS BUT HE STOP AND CHILL ON THE BENCH..CUZ HE SEE IT WUZ NO POINT TO PLAY ANYMORE..NIGGA HAD ALEAST 50 SOMTHIN INTO START OF THE 3RD QUATER SO WHO KNO NIGGA COULD HIT 80 IF HE WANTED TOO..
SpiritualDragon 04-15-2003, 12:18 AM Kobe will never score 70. Why? Because of Shaq
that's not actually true. Sometimes Shaq steps down if Kobe is shootin well. If that was the case, then how did Kobe get 42 points in da first half?? Cuz Shaq stepped down for him. And brawla you have no place disrespectin Jordan, cuz if Jordan was a young as Kobe, he would murder him. But I fo' sure believe that Kobe is the best player right now, but he didn't to Jordan status yet.
BkBrawla 04-15-2003, 03:57 PM NO I DO WUT I WANT THA FUCK??? JORDAN IS WASH UP DONT GIVE A FUCK IF HE WUZ YOUNG..HE WONT MURDER..LIKE HIM PLAY AGAINST THE T-MAC AND KOBE,IVERSON,ALL THEM YOUNG CATS HE WILL GET ATE UP ...JORDAN REALLY DONT WANT..AND I DONT REALLY WANT TO HEAR THIS BULLSHIT I KNO U GOIN TO SAY OH WELL ALL THEM PPL U NAME GOT IT FROM JORDAN THE MOVES AND SHIT LIKE THAT CAME FROM JORDAN..HAHA NAW NIGGA HE SO HAPPEN TO BE PLAYIN B4 THEM CATS HE COULDNT EASILY BE KOBE PLAY B4 JORDAN HE WILL CAME UP AND DO THA SAME SHIT SO I DONT WANNA HERE YOUNG JORDAN WILL MURDER THE KOBE ..SHIT KOBE ONLY 24 YRS OLD WHEN JORDAN WUZ IN HIS PRIME LIKE FUCKIN 29 AND SHIT HA HA..DAWG KOBE GOT A LONGGGG WAY TOO GO SO SIT BACK AND WATCH GREATNESS COME B4 YA EYE HOLLA
SpiritualDragon 04-15-2003, 08:41 PM The 42 point half was defintily on pace to do it, but halftime, that usually cools down the players. Its possible, but very unlikely that'll it happen because Phil Jackson will sit you no matter how hot you are.
Jordan is out of Kobe's league. To say otherwise is naive. You're comparing an old 40 year old jordan to the NBA's elite young players, thats not fair. How many 40 year old people are scoring 20+ points a game? How many rings has Kobe won? How many rings as Michael won? How many MVPs and scoring titles does Michael have? Kobe? Whats Michael's career scoring average? To Kobe's? Michael came in his rookie and made an immediate impact and was his team premier's player. Kobe had to get taught by Van Exel and Jones. Not hating on Kobe, because no doubt, he has exceptional skill, and I live in LA so I see it every game, but he's not on the level of Michael. He will never be the basketball icon off the court Michael was. No one ever will. If you want to look at just a random_fan's standpoint, the highlights of Jordan obviously outdo those of Kobe's.
BkBrawla 04-15-2003, 10:28 PM of course ya fags can say that cuz he PLAYED B4 KOBE GOT DAMN GET THAT TO YA FUCKIN HEAD SON..yo check it if kobe did all the highlights and moves (which he is doin) i mean ya fags would say the same thing if motherfuckin kobe played b4 jordan..mite i add dude came from high school and he doin this i would say he start slow , i mean who wouldnt if u goin to high school to the nba..i mean nergo already got wut 3 champisonship rings jordan has 6 ..he goin to past him when he get done..yea i give that wash up balded nigga some props he doin his thing at the age 40 but that nigga greedy he dont wanna let go off that spotlight..he really dont wanna help kwamka brown sorry ass..he dont wanna advance the wizard team..by this gettin larry huges and stackhouse ,i mean come on duke u had ya time y keep playin..i think its unfair to compare kobe and jordan cuz u still got more on kobe yet jordan finished if u faggot wanna compare them too compare them when kobe retire and see wut he have done then doin it when he still 24 yrs old..smh..but kobe is the better player to me and i dont care if he do got shaq .wut he gotta do wit kobe ability ..nothin
SpiritualDragon 04-16-2003, 02:12 AM You keep contradicting yourself. Your statements are hypocritical. When comparisons are made between Jordan and Kobe on legitimate comparisons, IE Championships and Scoring titles, you say its unfair because Kobe started lated. And then you want to compare Kobe to Michael. Make up your mind, either you can or you can't.
Shaq is more dominant than Kobe. You'd be lieing to say otherwise. He is the focus point, everything goes through Shaq, and even Kobe said so. Kobe wouldn't of won the rings if Shaq was on the team, and vice versa. Jordan had Pippen who was good, but not Shaq level.
What ability does Shaq have on Kobe? Well he relives pressure since you can't double team since you'll get your ass dunked on by Shaq if you double.
BkBrawla 04-16-2003, 11:52 AM tha fuck u talkin about hoe?stfu..like i said dont compare jordan to kobe..cuz kobe still got more motherfuckin years left..how shaq get in the picture?who gives a fuck...kobe will break all joradan records ..scoring titles ,final mvp and blah blah shit like that...i'll give props to jordan nigga did made everybody better around him on his sorry ass team..tru..kobe got shaq.-wow- shaq mite be the foucs point but if kobe dont score then the Lakers dont win ..vice versa..kobe to me is the man on the team..always will be.and nobody say shaq got somthin to do wit kobe ability dickhead..hate when nigga compare jordan and kobe and be sayin oh well kobe got shaq..and blah blah blah..so..that dont got nothin to do wit kobe skillz and his ability...and like i said b4 HE WILL SCORE 70 POINTS AFTER HIS CAREER IS OVER holla 1
Kobe can easily pass Jordan's high, and why don't you think he can?? I mean he has the talent. AND FOR THE RECORD, NO ONE IS COMPARING KOBE TO THE 40 YEAR OLD JORDAN, SO WHAT THE H**L ARE YOU TALKING BOUT?? SHAQ IS ONLY MORE DOMINANT THAN KOBE CUZ HE'S A LARGER MAN THAN KOBE. IF SHAQ STEPS DOWN MORE, THE LAKERS CAN WIN A LOT MORE. IM SICK AND TIRED OF HATERS TRYING TO PUT KOBE DOWN.
SpiritualDragon 04-17-2003, 05:54 PM Reread my post, I wasn't hatin on Kobe. The fool Bkbrawla was comparin 'em. Doesn't matter why Shaq is more dominant than Kobe, he just is. The lakers didn't win a lot more with Shaq out, they proved that this season. I think Kobe has the talent for it, but with today's circumstances, I think the odds are much higher for him not being able to do it than Michael and David back in 80/90s. The NBA games then were 120+ each team, there was life no defense. Now you get most games 80-100 area. Defenses are better, more soficated, even with zone. Its a different era, deal with it.
BkBrawla 04-17-2003, 06:22 PM BLAH GET MY NAME OUT YA MOUTH BITCH DAMN SMH..I DIDNT DO NUTHIN U WUZ HATIN ON KOBE..TRYIN TO CHANGE IT UP NOW HAHAHA..WUT A FAG..
SpiritualDragon 04-17-2003, 06:22 PM bkbrawla said this
JORDAN IS WASH UP DONT GIVE A FUCK IF HE WUZ YOUNG..HE WONT MURDER..LIKE HIM PLAY AGAINST THE T-MAC AND KOBE,IVERSON,ALL THEM YOUNG CATS HE WILL GET ATE UP
..SHIT KOBE ONLY 24 YRS OLD WHEN JORDAN WUZ IN HIS PRIME LIKE FUCKIN 29 AND SHIT HA
Thats not comparing? He wanted to come compare so I did.
so
How many rings has Kobe won? How many rings as Michael won? How many MVPs and scoring titles does Michael have? Kobe? Whats Michael's career scoring average? To Kobe's? Michael came in his rookie and made an immediate impact and was his team premier's player. Kobe had to get taught by Van Exel and Jones.
no one hatin' on kobe
Not hating on Kobe, because no doubt, he has exceptional skill, and I live in LA so I see it every game, but he's not on the level of Michael
nobody say shaq got somthin to do wit kobe ability dickhead..hate when nigga compare jordan and kobe and be sayin oh well kobe got shaq..and blah blah blah..so..that dont got nothin to do wit kobe skillz and his ability
I never said Shaq had to do anything with Kobe's ability. Learn to read. I said that Shaq will affect Kobe's scoring significantly, as well as Phil Jackson.
SpiritualDragon 04-17-2003, 06:24 PM nigga you resort to your 'hahahahahaha faggot dickryder!' routine whenever someone stands you up. its old, get over it.
BkBrawla 04-17-2003, 07:43 PM SOMTIMES THING WILL NEVER GET OLD LIKE ME FUCKIN YA GURL "HAHAHAHAHAHAHA'"..
SpiritualDragon 04-17-2003, 09:27 PM i out-debated your hypocritical points and you resort pointless banter. ahahahahahaha!..
JerZe 11-06-2004, 11:11 AM kobe aint gonna pass mj cuz when mj scorced 69 he wasnt having knee problems, kobe is 24 with serious knee problems, and it was funny cuz when the playoffs first started everyone was comparing kobe to jordan then after they lost, ppl were saying that kobe isnt close to jordan
so yea
kobe aint gonna pass mj cuz when mj scorced 69 he wasnt having knee problems, kobe is 24 with serious knee problems, and it was funny cuz when the playoffs first started everyone was comparing kobe to jordan then after they lost, ppl were saying that kobe isnt close to jordan
so yea
you way off.......Kobe can easily pass MJ's career high......if he wanted to that is, don't you remember when Kobe scored his career high in ONLy 3 quarters?? Kobe's career high is like 56.......remember when Kobe scored 42 points in one half???............the fact is Kobe can do it, and his knee won't stop him....and no, he doesn't have SERIOUS knee problems, he has some knee problems, but they aren't serious
JerZe 11-06-2004, 11:33 AM umm your wrong, the whole talk last year was kobe wouldve had to miss the playoffs due to his knee, when someone sits on the bench with a machine on his knee then hell yea his knee problems are serious.. and no kobe aint gonna score 70 points the only reason why kobe had high scoring games is because of shaq when shaq was on the court, teams were more worried about stopping shaq.
its a shame, ur still way off.....like i said, he has knee problems, but they are as serious as you makin it......he had an injury, and he fixed it, sure he'll have problems, but Kobe can and still is playing like Kobe....u don't see him layin up shots instead of dunkin cuz of knee issues....
and like i said Kobe can score 70 if he wanted to, don't give me that "teams were more worried about Shaq" cuz if you watched the games where he scored 42 in the first half, and like 56 in 3 quarters, teams weren't double teaming Shaq when Kobe had the ball......Kobe was pullin up and shooting 3's, shooting off the dribble, Kobe was dominating the game, and if you say Kobe can't do that without Shaq(that is score a lot of points) then you don't know ur basketball......for heavens sake, T-Mac scored 60 something points, without a dominant man, and no, T-Mac is not better than Kobe, if not worse, they are equal........
its only easier for Kobe to break scoring records now that Shaq is gone because he can do what he want, where as with Shaq, he had to let Shaq get is 25 points and still try to get his 25-30 points
Qwerty Row 11-10-2004, 06:11 AM Kobe might break scoring recrds and such but he'll never be able to make a team KNOWN...If Michael Jordan wasnt on the Bulls I definitely wouldnt kknow who in the fuck Luc Longley was...Kobe wont ever be able to make someone who doesnt pay attention to basketball love the sport but Jordan did
s0Lstar18 11-19-2004, 12:02 AM Now I think Kobe is a great player but I found this article tell me what you think, this is when he hit the game 2 shot against the Pistons:
It's been a crazy week for Michael Jordan's legacy. Kobe Bryant nearly pilfered it for his own during the NBA Finals, only to shrink back into Norm Nixon range two days later. A few points to be made here:
-- There are times when Bryant is the reincarnation of Jordan in every respect. That stunning Game 2 shot is a great example. Then he came out for Game 3 and scored one point in the first half. That's just inexcusable, for any superstar.
The Lakers' problem is that they're constantly agonizing over how many shots Bryant should be allowed to take. It results in a wildly inconsistent offense that is simply unwatchable at times. Jordan never had that problem. Not only that, Jordan was always Jordan. Every single time. He leaves Kobe in the dust that way.
-- Lots of kids have dreams. They grow up wanting to be the Iceman, the Big O, the Dipper, the Doctor. Successful as they may become, they never quite get the imitation down. Bryant has worshiped Jordan his entire life, to the point where he is Jordan -- at least in his mind. The tongue was out after he won Game 2. The follow-through lingered, wrist still cocked with the arm fully extended -- just like Jordan when he beat Utah to win the 1998 Finals. On those magical days when it all comes together, Kobe Bryant gets to live his dream exactly.
-- All right, so he's not Jordan. But don't rule him out. Kobe could decide Sunday's Game 4 all by himself, no matter what Tayshaun Prince has to say.
-- When it comes to Jordan's early career, nobody seems to get it. ESPN analyst Greg Anthony became the latest to claim that Jordan, at 25, didn't have Bryant's outside shooting ability.
This is pure myth. We'll show you the video here at the 3-Dot, because we taped every available Jordan game off the satellite as soon as he left North Carolina. He's had a sweet, subtle touch and perfect footwork since he won the 1982 NCAA title with an outside shot. He was deadly as a member of the U.S. team that routinely shocked some very good NBA All-Stars leading up to the Olympics. He was astonishingly good the night he changed everything, scoring 63 points in a playoff game at Boston Garden at the age of 23.
So let's not hear that Jordan had to work on his outside shot. It was always there, absolutely textbook in every way. Jordan simply had bigger plans in those days. His entire life was a savage drive to the hoop, where he surpassed the aura of Elgin Baylor, Connie Hawkins and Julius Erving with the most mind-blowing forays ever seen.
Bryant has never been Michael Jordan, in essence, and he never will be. It's remarkable that he's even in the conversation.
LoL what do you guys think?
J. Cyrus 11-19-2004, 12:59 PM MJ remains the greatest player to touch a basketball...
T1Oracle 11-19-2004, 08:58 PM Kobe's not as likeable as Jordan, he's too arrogant. I don't follow basketball much, but I doubt he'll pass Jordan if he hasn't even threatened the record yet.
