Rapper Masta Ace A.K.A. Duval Clear, from Brooklyn, New York is in my opinion one of the greats. Ace is the one who brought us "Born To Roll" though he first became famous as part of the legendary Juice Crew. Known for his views on hating fake gangsta rappers and comercial rap, he is one of the most real emcee's to have been involved with Hip-Hop.

Ace has 5 solo albums to his name, and also a group album with eMC. Of his 5 solo albums i consider 2 of them classics (Disposable Arts & A Long Hot Summer) and the other 3 to be near-classic albums (Take A Look Around, SlaughtaHouse & Sittin On Chrome). Though there can be an argument that all 5 of his albums are classics. His latest work with his group eMC called The Show is also another solid effort as expected.

Yup, easily one of the best from the east coast, and i'd probably rate him as one of the most unappreciated/underrated emcees ever.

Brooklyn Masala is the smoothest shit ever...

Yeah, my favourite joint about women that i can think of.

Ace is a legend, indeed. Insanely talented emcee with one of the most consistent discographies.

He could possibly be my favourite rapper, up there with redman and nas...

I like Disposable Arts over his other albums, but all are dope. I remember first finding out about him by accident.. my mate told me to download animal rap remix and it came up with that track but it was actually music man by masta ace... and after i downloaded a few more JMT tracks i knew music man couldn't be by them as it was so different so searched the lyrics on google and wa-lah it was masta ace - music man, great song by the way. Though i'd heard the symphony before then just never knew he was on it.

I hope he changes his mind about ALHS being his last solo album, though he is a old dude nowadays, nearly mid 40's..

Slaughtahouse is his best and rawest album, beats, rhyming style off-on beat which he switched on his later albums. And I've got the og delicious vinyl pressing of it..

Slaughtahouse is his best album imo as well because it's the rawest, but I know that depends on taste... One thing I love about ace is that he evolved with hip hop to fit the times. His first album has that classic juice crew vibe to it. Then he started going in his own direction with slaughtahouse which was raw as fuck. Then with sittin' on chrome his lyrics/flow etc was still on point but the production was a bit different, with more of a west coast vibe to it. Then he still came back with his last two albums with newer beats and lyrics relevant to the times. Over all this time he stayed true to himself and hiphop. One of my favorites for sure...

Yea him and AZ tie for my fav east coast emcees...A Long Hot Summer is my favorite...I can't even tell you how many times I've listened to that album through and through. Ace has such good range on his albums. Some songs are funny, some heartfelt, some political ect. I like people who can represent all sides of themselves in an entertaining way. It was funny though cuz I went to an eMC show a few months ago and there were mad high school groupies tryin to holla at him...I was just thinkin damn do they even know how old he actually is? More importantly do they even know who he is?..because I overheard a girl in the bathroom telling her friend she didn't even know who was performing at this concert, she just came because the Lupe Fiasco concert was sold out...I started crackin up..I wanted to tell her that that was a blessing in disguise...
