Plies is 2 for 2 summer albums

i skimmed through it last night and it seemed shite but since it was sunny the day i burned it to a cd and i was driving about earlier listening to the album and i enjoyed it

this album will do for a few summer weeks

what i like about Plies is he is just basically himself, he doesn't try to be anybody else

his main focus is to get his point across and he does indeed do it ... he doesn't even try to be nice on the mic infact he is one of the wackest and one of the most simple rappers but he has a bunch of quoteables ... you don't even try to remember his rhymes but you finding yourself saying random lines of his out loud ...

he has a good balance between street songs with a mix of instropectiveness to them and songs fir the birds which in this day and age of mainstream hip-hop it makes him a better artist than most but whereas some rappers make songs for the birds just too boost their sales he seems like he enjoys making the music he makes so i can see why i'm guessing "street" dudes and birds enjoy his music

but there is no songs of the entertainment factor of Shawty, Ms Pretty Pussy, Like Water, Get You Wet or 100 Years though

I'm Da Man
Ol' Lady
Bushes
Worth Goin FED Fo
Dat Bitch
Somebody (Loves You)
Feel Like Fuckin
Watch Dis
1 Day
Bust It Baby Pt. 2
Rich Folk
#1 Fan

bold = my favorite songs

both of his albums are about the same rating but his first had more memorable songs...if i took my favorite songs from both i could make a pretty good album out of them

i'd take this album over Waynes easily to be honest ... Plies is just straight to the point whereas Wayne tries to fool all his fans into thinking he somes lyrical great with his cheesy metaphors and similies

Ross Jeezy & Plies are 3 very limited rappers that make music i enjoy ... Plies is a few steps down the ladder from the bauce and the snowman though

Roooossssssss & Jeezy

Plies

unlike Ross & Jeezy people may not like alot of their music but will like a few songs by them well this isny the case for Plies ... like Marmite you will either hate him or like him ...

if you don't gravitate to him on the first song then you will never like him ... i don't even know how i ended up listening to a song of his but i enjoyed it from day one ...

so if you aren't expecting to enjoy anything from it just stay away from it and going and moan about other shite

and Dipset is any better??? thats just like saying NY is trash cuz of Byrdgang and then forgetting MF Grimm, Nas... etc...

at least Plies talks some realistic shit, whereas somehow every backyard YouTube battle rapper in Manhattan pushes a maserratti and has a Cuban bitch choppin up bricks in his living room...

I'm not hatin on the South there is some good music down there but mainstream wise the South may be more popular but its not good music. Plies may have street cred or he may be more real but he can't rap worth a shit and his music isn't enjoyable. I'll listen to Rick Ross, Jeezy, even some Wayne but this guy i can't, just no.

ok... I thought your comment was directed at the whole region... and I disagree, our mainstream is good... cuz our mainstream includes...

Outkast
Gnarles Barkley/Goodie Mob/Cee Lo
TI
Ludacris
Wayne
Three 6 Mafia
Plies
David Banner
Trick Daddy
Rick Ross
Flo Rida (our Nelly, the nigga can ride tho)
Scarface
Eightball and MJG
Boyz N Tha Hood
Jeezy

yeah... those dancin kids... underground club music, sold some ringtones, hardly qualifies as mainstream... they sell even less records than Atmosphere.... so yeah...

thank you..people always act like the dancin is all the south brings to the mainstream..someone like Soulja Boy is a rare case of a underground dance craze blowin up because kids with no individuality started youtubing it to learn the dance..

I don't consider it a difference... to me they ain't no better or worse... DipSet used to make that reality street shit too, talkin the same topics... if you call Plies trash, you have to call the whole NY Kingpin/Trap Rap genre garbage too... drug dealer rappers really got they slang from E 40, and later Raekwon anyway...
