Not really, singles are usually better quality than the rest of an album, they're for showing off to make you want to buy an album. HHID was pretty poor but it had a few bangers.

This track's decent. Better than that Black President ting, but that's not on the album aye?

This is quality..

Nas set's high standards thats why people are always expecting something Illmatic like from him when in truth him or anyone else for that matter will drop anything like Illmatic ever again in Hip-Hop. Anyone who thinks different is naive..End of

The fawning over Nas on this forum knocks me sick, like he's a fuckin God or something.

Track is OK, I can't stand the drums on all these Southern type beats though, boring as fuck they must be on every other new track I hear. The beat dominates the lyrics on the hook aswell, lyrically it's good though.

I disagree...singles are what catches peoples attention in the first place but that definitely doesn't make them the best song on the album...I can't actually think of any albums where I think the single is the best song.

I thought this track was cool. It isn't anything jaw-dropping but I definitely wouldn't mind hearing it again. I think his album will be good, I actually see it being better than HHID for some reason..

Who? I can't think of much that could have arguably had a greater effect on hip hop or is more highly respected than Illmatic.

sick track. to me the beat wasn't the greatest, but nas laced it with lyrics like not many others can

love the third verse:

This universal apartheid
I'm hog-tied, the corporate side
Blocking y'all from going to stores and buying it
First L.A. and Doug Morris was riding wit it
But Newsweek article startled big wigs
They said, Nas, why is he trying it?
My lawyers only see the Billboard charts as winning
Forgetting - Nas the only true rebel since the beginning
Still in musical prison, in jail for the flow
Try telling Bob Dylan, Bruce, or Billy Joel
They can't sing what's in their soul
So untitled it is
I never change nothin'
But people remember this
If Nas can't say it, think about these talented kids
With new ideas being told what they can and can't spit
I can't sit and watch it
So, sh!t, I'ma drop it
Like it or not
You ain't gotta cop it
I'm a hustler in the studio
Cups of Don Julio
No matter what the CD called
I'm unbeatable, y'all

Uh..? Singles are usually the worst tracks on albums, trying to appeal to a wide audience = dumbed down. The real jewels are in there between.

whats with people just bringing out stupid comments like hes way past his best or its gonna be a shit album etc...if you gonna say that can you please justify it with a reason. I thought HHID was still pretty good so I dunno where people coming up with these sweeping statements about nas. his last few albums have been pretty good in my opinion and you cant expect him to drop something as good as illmatic again and again. I dont see anyreason why the album wont be a solid release.

dont mind the song but its just a single. usually the singles are some of the worst songs on the album but yehh will have to wait and see. Is there a release date yet?

I always knew nas would rip a southern beat with ease, he sounded dope on rich boys ghetto remix and he sounded even better on this, can't wait to hear him on the other track produced by pollow da don... my legacy i think it's called... and the project roach track should be interesting...

The chorus is so bad haha

yeah as much as i love this record i must say...they should've cut Keri Hilson out of the chorus except for the part where she sings the word Hero..it sounds really bad how shes kinda ad-libing on Nas' part of the chorus...

its also not catchy at all for a single..
