“A lot of artists that claim to be old school or of a certain era, they try to rely on that, Oh you gotta respect me because if it wasn’t for me, you wouldn’t be here. I find that argument bulls**t at the end of the day.”
- KRS-One

it's in this good as usual interview by Kris.......

He says everything. Type a random statement and guaranteed KRS said it at some point in his endless, countless rants.

And I still think that.

Krs is just mad that he isn't Rakim, and that he isn't as important as he thinks he is. Public Enemy(almost all political Hip hop), Rakim, De la Soul(All alt. hip hop), and NWA are all trump him when it comes to being influential.

That's your opinion & I respect it but 3 Feet High & Rising is classic & my favorite De La Soul album.

i think KRS is def the man...but you have a new generation who has no idea about him, cause rap has been around so long now...but he's dope...somethings i agree with him some i don't...but because of the classic gems he has dropped...he's the man

Or perhaps I just like like those groups and think that Krs hasn't put out anything worth talking about in about 15 years. And that his "I'm the teacher" shite got old a long time ago. Now, I agree that the Jungle Brother's are underrated. Honestly, I'm not even a De la Soul fan, I just hear there sound in a majority of alt. rap groups, and think their influence is worth noting. And it's better to be thought to be a wanna-be intellectual by some douche bag on a hip hop forum that be a complete ignorant.

KRS One has a right to say what he wants... I don't always agree with him, but KRS redefined battle rap... he took personal disses to a new level, he was the first rapper to REALLY beat other artists ass (PM Dawn) his Stop The Violence Movement was excellent, and Return of The Boom Bap is one of the better breakaway records (after AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted)... KRS is Da Gawd...
