Who the hell is 6 Two?

Hailing from Dallas, Texas, you might've heard him on Dre's Chronic 2001. He appeared on the tracks "Xxpolosive" and "Bitch *****z". He has that Southern demeanor with a HEAVY west coast influence. His early albums with Gena Cide (which I'll get to later), sound very "g-funkish".

6 Two is (was, now) the D.O.C.'s protege. When The D.O.C. dropped Deuce, most tracks feature Six 2. I highly recommend you download it. One of the songs that is strictly 6 Two is in my sig...

but anyways... it seems like 6 just never got his chance. As Wu put it to me earlier, because this was something I didn't know....

The D.O.C.'s Deuce album was suppossed to come out through Aftermath but DOC wanted to record vocals. Him and Dre argued over it. Then DOC got pissed, left and released the album outside. Then all those guys who were his proteges like Six-Two basically cut ties w/ him. They were pissed cause it was their chance to get on Aftermath. Now DOC's cool w/ Dre again but IDK about the rest. As recently as May, DOC said he hasn't spoke to Six-Two since tha album.

With all that aside, 6 Two dropped two great albums with a guy named ElDoG, under the name "Gena Cide". He also dropped an OUTSTANDING album in '05.

Mac-A-Roni & G's

One of my favorite albums of '95...

Waste Uva Color

Mixed Up Murder (81G)

I wouldn't take all this time out to make a thread about this cat if I didn't feel like he damn deserved. One of the greatest unknown cats in the history of Hip-Hop.

Last I heard, he's currently working with Louisiana legend, Big Mike, on an album. He's also doing some work with Timbaland

you can check his myspace here....

A Check THIS OUT More than any other music since the blues, hip-hop is all about stories. And its stories are criminal minded and grand, making them even more enthralling and unbelievable, but also making them only as interesting and convincing as the teller. That's why despite being Feared by the industry, before his major-label recording contract, heads still gravitated towards Fort Worth, Texas's realest Insain GORILLA since1993. 6Two born 27 years ago is the real deal, the genuine article. He's a man of the streets, intimately familiar with its codes and its violence, but still, 6Two, an incredibly intelligent and deliberate man, holds himself with a regal air as if above the pettiness that surrounds him. Couple his real-life hardship with his knack for addictive syrupy hooks and its clear that 6Two has what it takes to ride down the road to riches and diamond rings. 6Two is real so he does real things. 6Two was discovered in 1996 by one of the true legends of the rap game - THE D.O.C. After signing 6Two to his production label Silverback Records, THE D.O.C. immediately took him to Los Angeles where he was assisting mega-platinum rap producer Dr. Dre with his highly anticipated "CHRONIC 2001" album. Dr. Dre heard the rap skills of 6Two and wanted him to participate in the project. In the year 2000 the album "CHRONIC 2001" was released to worldwide success, with the #1 radio single titled "Xxplosive". "Xxplosive" features the talents of 6Two with the hook being sung by Nate Dogg. The "CHRONIC 2001" received huge multi-platinum success, selling over 8 million albums worldwide. The album went on to win numerous awards and culminated with Dr. Dre winning a Producer of the Year Grammy Award. 6Two later released an album called The Deuce. Quite Frankly, while the Doc inserted his name on the album it was meant to be 6Two solo's release. The album was set to go platinum.SonyREDD really beleaved in SIX-2's Solo . With the last remaining members of N.W.A, 6Two showcased his talent on several tracks that include. Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, The Doc, Ice Cube, MC Ren, and Nate Dogg. Since building his sucess on his strenghts of weighing in the top contenders in the Rap industry. 6Two has since risen from the ashes of victimization and been called upon by the legendary Timbaland. Timbaland, along with Alabama Rapper Attitude, and 6two aka deuce have finished what seems to be a rap masterpiece. The album is set to be released very soon and will catapult Sixty 2 back into raps lime light. While working on the new Timbaland record 62 has written for Puff daddy another urban heavyweight.I also Co-Wrote 1st Single WAIT a MINUTE for the PUSSIECAT Dolls. 6Two Album Credits: Genacide "Waste of a cular" Genacide "Mixed up Murder" Dr. Dre. Haha I endorse this thread. People gotta check out Six-Two asap. I hope the album w/ Big Mike (a former member of Geto Boys btw) happens. This song alone is so dope I hope it comes out. Plus any new Six-Two would be great.

Down Home by Six-Two & Big Mike featuring Young Bleed

Six is the 2nd verse on that track for those who don't know him.

Hopefully we get some more from Six-Two soon.

Big Mike JUST did an interview w/ and this is what he said about the album w/ Six-Two:

DX: Are you still putting out the album with 6 Two?
Big Mike: You know what, me and 6 Two, the company that we was working with on that project, we had decided not to jump all the way into bed with them. But we did manage to get a pretty good chunk of the album recorded. He has some things he has to attend to, I have some things I have to attend to, but we speak on the phone ( regularly. And someday soon we gonna get back into the studio and finish that project.

I think he has a lot of talent though.

I loved that one song he had way before you started telling me about him...I didn't even know it was his song:

"Startched down dickies and a grambling-Same world pimpin baby simple as that-I'm just trying to kick it wit cha on the fa reala-I aint tryin to come between you and ya *****-Just hit me on my hip and I'll call you back-You can play like I'm ya kinfolk or something like that-He probably already think I'm digging ya cat-Same world pimpin baby simple as that"

It was on Greg Street's album.
