Pac thought that Nas was trying to be like him.. cause in a song called "The Message" Nas raps (off the top, this aint accurate) "took 5shots and left the hospital the same night" and thats exactly what Pac did... got shot 5 times and left the hospital the same night. thats what i've read in sites.

yea pac started that whole nas-pac beef, in nas's song "the message" i quote directly from nas "felt my leg burn then it got numb, Spun around and shot one, heard shots and dropped son, Caught a hot one...left hospital that same night" Nas only said he got shot, he never said he got shot 5 times. Then Pac in "against all odds" says " This little nigga named Nas thinks he live like me, Talkin bout he left the hospital took five like me..." I duno where pac got the idea that Nas said he got shot 5 times but he was just tryin to start shit. Pac thought he was the only real nucka out there n when nas came out with it was written n kept it as real as u get, pac tried to take down nas cuz he saw him as competetion. "against all odds" i also quote pac "Hey Nas, your whole damn style is bitten, You heard my melody, read about my life in the papers, All my run-ins with authorities, felonious capers
Now you wanna live my life, so what's the answer Nas?" i duno why pac said that but if u have listened to it was written, people just dont make that shit up. Nas aint no fake thug.

i read on a pac site that pac met nas at a party or something and he said to him i feel you and shit, nas didnt say nothing to his face, he went back and made a track dissing pac, thats how the whole beef started.

Nas shouldn't have made his lyrics match Pac's situation so closely...
He just shouldn't have, just because...It's wrong, but that beef wasn't REAL...

And, was it squashed?, yes..
