Awhile back, Jay-Z's album of songs was released without the beats, as well. This was a definite and intriguing concept for a wide variety of producers. Thus, many took him up on the implied offer, and began to remix it, making their own beats.
Producers brought different lives to the album. There's The White Album, The Grey Album, and more. One producer, Danger Mouse, perceptively took The White Album music from the Beatles and put it with Jay-z, giving it a retro sound.
