R*O*Y*C*E 03-08-2004, 05:40 PM Yeah The First album i bought was forever...fuckin one of the best albums i got to this day...
Na Wu Tang Are Forever...
Multiplaxed, 03-08-2004, 05:49 PM The w was a definate downfall to thier harcore fanbase, it gave them some big mainstream exposure with gravel pit. To me it was still an old school styleised album, with a more bboy feel to it.
Iron flag picked up their old style again but with odb out of the picture it some people thought it was lacking some what.
Solo efforts, everything before 97 was classic shit (except ghostface) after forever most of the solo efforts were wack, to average. since iron flag picked up where they left off, ghostface, gza, rza, raekwon, inspectah decks solo's have been better not classic but definately better.
U GOD, Method Man, Masta Killa, ODB are yet to drop thier post iron flag lp (ghostface will be on his second). All scheduled in the first half of the year. I think this is planned as they will have a few months to hit the studios together, make a decent album, with rza behind the boards. and then go on thier 10th anniversary album/tour/book.
To answer the question they dropped in The W, where they didn't make a bad album must tried something different, the solo efforts post forever were lacking in rza's production and given rza production talents would make him hard to tie down in in the lab for one individual within the fam (ie not much money). post 36 chambers he was still getting known so he could drop classic tailor made beats for each wu memeber. and eache wu memeber only had to worry bout the lyrics cuz they knew rza beats had thier back.
hopefully this is what they have planne for thier 10th anniversary album 6 or so months together gives rza all the time behind the boards with the fam.
Yurluzn Bracket 03-08-2004, 09:26 PM Def true... but Iron Flag was a big disappointment, Ghostfaces most recent solo was disappointing... rza new shit gave me the vibe of how i felt when i was a kid listenin 2 wu tang... however the w was not as good... ODB is now Ruff Ryders so hes gone... I just want ta fam 2 release one more hot underground type old school shalon style cds... i wanna feel their vibes agian they are definatly the most cleverist out there... however they are startin to press me not impress me...

to the shorty above, hun thers alot of shit you need to get caught up on, the wu's been around for almost 12 years now, that hole era of rap was the shit, before shit got so commercialized, cats was hungry, see your generation, yall growing up on all this bull shit, cats now a days can get on bye just spittin a catchy hook, no skill involved, look at nelly, chingy, you know the types, but ye any rappers from the golden age of rap, good shit, to me its still like yesterday but for you it might be old school, but back to the topic of the wu, man cats like them and g rap, old nwa shit, rakim, krs, dady kane, man those were the days, when skills rulled
J. Cyrus 09-03-2004, 12:33 AM Liquid Swords and Cuban Link are the 2 best solo Wu releases to date...I have tremendous resepct and adulation for the group, but they have fallen off...Hope they rebound...RZA and GZA came correct on the new Pete Rock album for that 1 track...GZA gonna be on the new Jedi Mind Tricks CD too so I'm lookin' forward to that...And I'll peep U-God's shit...
