Eventhough Shaq is a veteran and has been one of the best Centers to ever play, Yao Ming has been getting with him and stepping up his game. My favorite team is the Houston Rockets, so my opinion may be bias. What are yall thoughts about this matchup?

as of right now shaq is still the best at the center in the league but yao ming gonna eventually get better

Actually, to this day, Shaq is declining and Yao is improving. Although, Shaq is better than Yao right now, as Shaq continues to decline and Yao continues to improve, they'll be equal in a year or two.

That's unless Shaq retires before then.

yeah Yao is going to get better but it all depends on who can contest the best in the paint....Shaq is a dominant force because of his size and if you jump to play defense when he is going toward the basket....your leg will likely be placed directly up your asshole by his force....

Yao is a better shooter than shaq but look the point is he is a Center...he has to match up to shaqs ability down low and contest defense with him.....yao is creative in his moves and shaq really doesn't get around to well when he is double or triple teamed...

Shaq is mos definitely better. I've seen a lot of his match-ups with Yao and Shaq just plays like 9 inch more bigger than Yao. Shaq also has the bulk to and agility to outplay Yao in any day. Yao needs to attack the basket more and be a lil bit more aggressive so he can be at a par level with my boy Shaq.

Shaq is better right now, but yes he is declining, but even so, Yao won't get as dominant as Shaq......Yao still isn't realizing how dominant he can be....Yao is too soft, he's constantly gettin his shot blocked by smaller centers, he doesn't take the ball up strong....you'd think T-Mac could finally get somewhere with a good center, but even so, T-Mac and Yao will be nothing like Kobe and Shaq because Yao is soft, come to think of it, Yao and T-Mac are very different from Kobe and Shaq cuz Yao and T-Mac are more laid back, while Kobe and Shaq are more dominant..I really don't think Yao will ever be a strong player, but he'll get better

Yeah, Yao is a little bit too soft. There's one game where I saw the ball was rebounded from him by................Rafer Alston!! Damn! That ain't right! But once he realizes that he has a great potential and a tower-like height to boost then he'll have a succesful career in the league.

if yao steps up n gets aggressive n plays 9/10 games like he did vs the kings, then he'll be about as good as shaq, my fav teams the rockets, so i like yao better...he needs to be more consistant
