March 9, 2004 will be a day to remember not just because it's the 7 year anniversary of The Notorious B.I.G.'s death, but because it is the day when two hip hop heavyweights met in a secret location and ended their beef without violence or records. Joe Budden and G-Unit who were scheduled to appear on New York's Hot 97.1 Renegade Morning show declined because they had already settled the beef.
They beef began when 50 (One time guest editor for XXL magazine) used one of Joe Budden's quotables for the "Step Your Rap Game Up" portion of the magazine. He then called Joe Budden a "B Rapper" live on Hot 97 shortly after the magazine was released. The beef then resurfaced when Joe Budden threw shots at G-Unit while current G-Unit member Game was on the track with him.
Following Game's Hot 97 appearance in which he and Joe Budden spoke to eachother live, 50 Cent and Loyd Banks told Hot 97 that they would be there the following day to discuss the beef. But a tribute to The Notorious B.I.G.'s death inspired both sides to end the beef before it escalated any further. The two parties met at a secret location that night and ended the beef. G-Unit has since then said they won't be making any records in retaliation, and Joe Budden was quoted saying, "It's done. It's over with. I ain't gotta problem with them no more". Both sides haven't released any details of the meeting but both agree the beef has been settled.
