View Full Version : Hip Hop vs. Bill O'Reilly [Part 2]

Bill O'Reilly is at it again, this time with 50 Cent and Reebok as the target for his venom on his O'Reilly Factor show. Yesterday, Fox News' Bill O'Reilly took a shot at Reebok International for its affiliation with 50 Cent, calling the relationship "corporate pollution." Recently, the multi-platinum rapper inked an endorsement deal with Reebok for his G-Unit sneakers, which is a top-seller for the sneaker giant since it's launch in November 2003.

"Reebok should be ashamed of themselves," O'Reilly told the Boston Herald before his show last night. "They're embracing a guy who's hurting children."

The cable news king even got The Congress of Racial Equality on the show to identify what it considers the five most dangerous rappers and their corporate ties. 50 Cent and Reebok came in at No. 3. The list also included P. Diddy, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg and had Eminem placed at the number one spot.

When the cable news king talks, corporate America listens. It was Reilly's wrangling of Pepsi that resulted in the soda giant dumping Ludacris as a spokesperson in 2003. And earlier this month, O'Reilly threatened to give Anheuser-Busch the gas face if they hired Luda as a pitchman for the beer. So far, Reebok is standing by the Queens-born rapper, who donates 50 cents to charity for each pair of G-Unit shoes sold. The sell-through rate on the G-Unit signature sneaker is one of the best ever for a Reebok product in Foot Locker stores.

"We enjoy working with 50 Cent and recognize the excitement he brings to our brand," Reebok said in a statement.

Still, O'Reilly is convinced Reebok should sever ties with 50 Cent citing the rapper's negative lyrics as a decay to America's kids. "It's a horrible influence on children," he said. "It's desensitizing them. Ten-year-old little boys are calling 10-year-old little girls `beeyatches' and `hos.'"

Reebok commented that it doesn't condone every action of its hundreds of athletic and entertainment endorsers, but it does support their rights to free expression.

Smh... Stupid people today. Ok I'm not exactly sure who this guy is. Why is it all these companies care about what he thinks? I mean I don't think he can shut the company down for them having a spokesperson he didn't like. Plus where the hell does a person who works for Fox get off saying other companies are a bad influence? You can't turn on Fox without seeing some kind of show about drugs, violence, sex, whatever. This man really needs to take a look at himself before judging other people.

Bill O'Reilly is an idiot. Who is he to say what we can and can't listen to, what we can and can't buy etc etc? I read about all that shit with Luda and I could not believe it. This man is poison! He has no right to jump in with his same old tired assed story - when's he going to realise his hate campaign against rap is lame and we aren't buying it? Get a life, grandpa!

Thats the same guy who ripped Jadakiss for saying "why did Bush knock down those towers?". He wants to call him anti American for somthing like that while with what he said conflicts with the first amendment for freedom of speech.

Bill O'Reilly is a money hogging bitch by starting mess like this in hopes of boosting his ratings for his lame ass show. If companies take off the artists in sake of their reputation, I suggest we just don't buy their products.

What I can't believe is that this guy... Bill O'Riely or whatever... Says that LUDACRIS, P DIDDY, AND EMINEM... okay... the 3 biggest JOKES when it comes to acting "gagster" in rap music, and he describes them as the most "Dangerous" rappers around? How the fuck is a rapper dangerous? They don't walk around the block and slang coke with a 9, the mofuckers who do THAT are dangerous... THOSE are the people fucking up lil kids lives with drugs and prospects of money and power... Bill O'Riely is another example of people who see the big picture to small, he thinks that whats on TV is whats real, so when someone makes a public statement that hits the mainstream and white-america don't like it, they sic this punk motherfucker on 'em cuz he's got a TV show, WOW... Do you think 50 cent is gonna sell one less G Unit sneaker becuase of this pasty ass communist??? Hell fucking no, so he can suck the hip hop community's enourmous, black penis untill it jizz's in his grill-piece cuz don't no one give a fuck about "Bill O'Riely"... I just roasted that lil bitch haha...

btw 50 and G Unit are the FUTURE of mainstream gangster rap music, along with others, and if u don't like 50, you better get used to not liking... flat out...

BILL O REILY IS A RACIST.
OK FIRST OF ALL HE WANTS TO TARGET THE HIPHOP COMMUNITY WHICH IS DONE MAINLY BY MINORITIES, AND THEY ARE MAKING MORE MONEY THAN HE IS. MANY OLDER WHITE MEN STILL HATE THE FACT THAT YOUNG BLACKS AND LATINOS ARE MAKING MORE MONEY THRU THE STRENGH OF THE STREETZ...more THAN SOME OF THEM IN THE CORPORATE WORLD, AND IT KILLS THEM!

I AM ALL FOR THE GOOD OF CHILDREN, BUT HIS TARGETING HIPHOP PROVES TO ME HIS MAIN INTENTION ISN'T THE SAFE GUARDING OF KIDS.
WHAT ABOUT ROCK BANDS, CHRISTINA AND BRITTANY MAKING LITTLE 9 YEAR OLD GIRLS DRESS LIKE SLUTS?

Why WAS IBILL IN SUPPORT OF HOWARD STERN A FEW MONTHS AGO WHEN HOWARD CAME UNDER FIRE FOR RACIAL AND SEXUALLY EXPLICIT STUFF
AND MANY KIDS LISTEN TO HOWARD TALK ABOUT HOES, SLUTS, GRAPHIC SEX POSITIONS AND ALL!!! HE ALLOWS ALL TYPES OF RACIST JOKES TO BE SPEWED ON HIS SHOW, BUT PUNK ASS BILL O REILY SAYS Howard is no way a racist and HE (Bill) SUPPORTS HOWARD being on the air.

Fuck Bill! http://board.rapmusic.com/images/smilies/flipa.gif Kill Bill!

How can u blame hip hop for our childrens behavior. Children are a shaddow of their parents, though they may enjoy hip hop like the rest of us I doubt hip hop has anything to do with their actions in society. If your raise your children right it is least likely they will do what they see or hear on TV or the radio - we are our childrens biggest role models. Any actions we take in life is our way of surviving some kids are not born with silver spoons which I can probably say goes for most of us so they have to do what they have to do hip hop has no tole on what life god has chosen for them. Speeking as a mother of a 5 year old and 2 year old who listen to hip hip all day and are not even alowed to play with toy guns. I doubt you will catch them killing anyone in their lifetime. If anything they just might be the next Eminem or Luda.

The man hates black people period. If some white business man said it...there would be no problem. Actually they would take it into consideration and listen to it..but since Jada is an african american...its a problem. Bill is a racist....he just wants to get the best of our community...he could target the pop world the rock world but no...he targets our world. I have always been a democrat. And always will be. I love Clintion! That is a true nigga!...

yeah, bill o'reilly is the worst, but all that talk about shootin him is exactly what he wants. if someone came at him w/ a gat he'd air his show from a hospital room and tell everybody how he was right all along. from then on nobody in the hiphop game and probably athletics too would lose all of the sponsorships. i think o'reilly's kryptonite is a driven educated black person. as long as we stay smart he can't win.

Ok, first of all I'll say that it's about 5 am here and I mostly skimmed through this thread so I apologize if I miss something.

ok, first of all those of you who say that hip hop (the most popular genre of music in this country) has nothing to do with the actions and behavior of the youth in our society are just bullshitting yourself. Honestly, do any of you all really think that if millions of kids across the country were having words of peace and unity pumped into their ears that the crime rate among teens would be exactly the same as it is right now? I'll try and not spill out my life story on here but let me use my past experiences as an example. I remember when I first moved to Houston, Texas. The area that I lived in certainly wasn't any form of ghetto but it was a muddy pit compared to my old home in Toronto, Canada, and since it was my first view of America in person I sort of accepted All of America to be the same (I was about nine). One aspect of this new "home" I remember clearly is the HORRIBLE schools. I won't go into vivid detail but believe me when I tell you it was the closest place to hell I had ever stepped foot inside of.

Well anyways, after about a year my family and I moved into another house in a "better" neighborhood. The first thing about all the kids in the school I noticed was how artificial and almost spoiled they were. You see, in the apartments that I used to live in (mostly populated by blacks and Pakistanis) there was a sense of unity among everyone that I didn't find in the kids at this new school. I mean, there were allot of fights I saw for the first time (and probably allot of other things that I was to young to realize), but everyone could sort of hang around each other in a way. No matter what ethnicity or even age, no one was really ashamed of hanging out with somebody else. But in this new school everyone was "categorized". By this I mean everyone stayed with their own type of people. For example, I'll admit that I was a pretty stupid kid growing up. I was probably the dumbest kid in the entire class, but I remember only one black kid out of everyone else tried to help me. Over at the other school I could ask anyone for help and they would have had no problem at all giving me a hand, but these other kids were almost embarrassed to even talk to me because of how stupid I was.

Not only that, but what really annoyed me was how hard some kids acted. This new school was heaven compared to the old one. The teachers were VERY nice, the standards students were expected to keep up with were much higher, the color of the walls were much brighter, etc.

So what I’m basically trying to say is the words “artists” on MTV and BET continue to perpetuate over and over again into the heads of children everyday, DO influence how they act. Even now when I walk the hallways I see so many dumb asses that are basically throwing their entire life away because it’s not “cool” to be smart! You can accept it or not but most of you reading this right now are products of some 50 year old white man hiding behind all the bling bling and gangster images that are fed to you since the second you’re born.

I’m not saying that I totally agree with Bill O’Reilly or any of the other hypocritical propaganda on Fox news, but he does have a valid point.
Before I go on to my next point, I apologize for how long that was. I know I put in some extra information that didn’t need to be included, but like I said it’s extremely early here and I can’t really concentrate.

Ok, my second point, the part about donating to charity for every sneaker sold is also bull shit. The SWEAT SHOPS where the shoes would be made are filled with thousands of people being worked like SLAVES for about a quarter a day! Go to http://www.chinalaborwatch.org/index.htm?http://www.chinalaborwatch.org/action/elegant-action.htm for more information.

Again I apologize for the “autobiographical section”, but like I said it’s getting harder and harder to concentrate as time continues. I was actually about to not post this at all out of embracement, but then I figured this just MIGHT be useful to someone. I also apologize for any grammar mistakes.

PS: To the guy who was praising Clinton, how can a man who betrays his wife who he promised to stay faithful to until death supposed to be trusted to care for the people he doesn’t even know the names of, just to put it simply.

Oh jesus...you people, man. No, I'm not saying "you people" in a racist way, so don't jump all over me. I mean "you people" in this forum, and specifically this thread.

I have a honest question for anybody that's posted in this thread: are you content living such ignorant lives? I found these forums on accident and I found this topic. I was blown away at how stupid some of you people are. No, I didn't come here just to make fun of you or to try to put you and your music down. I'm posting here because I'm truly shocked at what some people have written.

Let's clear some things up about Bill O'Reilly and the Republican party which you all dispise so much without reason.

First off, Bill O'Reilly isn't a Republican, he's an Independent. So already there, all of your comments about Republicans are void.

Which leads me to point two. Why do blacks hate the Republican party so much? It's a question that's baffled me for years; I simply don't get it. Do you know that the Republican party has done more for blacks (I refuse to say African American) than the Democrats have? A few examples are the end of slavery, and appointing Colin Powell. Did you know that more Republicans voted in favor of the Civil Rights Acts of the 1960s than Democrats? So why do you still favor the Democratic party so much? I'm not trying to jump to any conclusions here at all, but this is all I can figure out. I personally believe it's the free handouts given out by the worthless Democratic social programs such as welfare. Again, I'm not trying to be racist, so correct me if I'm wrong, but why do blacks hate Republicans so much? I'll leave you for now with that.
