I think this is a great opportunity for busta, and hopefully flipmode. finally he is on a hiphop label who knows how to deal with the commercial appeal for this genre. j records made it ain't safe no more a commercial disappointment, so far it's only vertified gold, and debuted on #43 on billboard top 100 in 2002.
either busta or dre have confirmed this, but it's deifinitively close to a deal, and probably it will be official next week when busta comes home from his canadian tour. lighty said around 14th feb. to allhiphop.com that the deal was done and only needed to be signed, and that dre had worked with busta's album for a couple of weeks.

rumours, it sounds right, that busta will release his aftermath debut in june/july 2004.

log on to hiphopdx.com and listen to busta and spliff newest joint, pop those things

This is old news.. but...

I don't think you can blame J Record for Busta's disappointing album sales. The guy tends to make great lead singles, but then has like 14 songs on the album which are filler. It just seems to me that Busta Rhymes is better on other peoples songs than he is on his own work. Sorta like Memphis Bleek. I think Busta just needs to lay back and make a quality album. I really don't think J Records is to blame

I mean J Records is the main reason, take a look at the other rappers who's certified 2x platinum or more. most of them are on HIPHOP label, dre, eminem, jay-z +++. I think Busta has made as good albums as Jay-Z and other legends who's in the game now. He has a uniquie style, is the hardest working man in the biz, and it ain't always easy to catch or feel his songs the first time you hear them, so give his albums a couple of more spins.

Look at all the major talent J has, and it's only Alicia who has been certified over 3x platinum with an album from them once, if i'm correct. They really suck on promotion!

Not really. I like J Records. I'd definitely sign with them because they take care of their artists. I just think Busta has never really wanted to be there in the first place. And I don't really like anybody who's associated with Violater Management except Capone N Noreage. Aftermath is not the saviour everybody is making them out to be. They have only 3 real succesful people. What happened to Truth Hurts? Why'd Rakim leave? I bet yall don't remember but.. Eve was on Aftermath way before she signed with Ruff Ryders and they didn't even use her. Now she's back and I bet she won't sell as much as Double R made her sell.

I guess I see things differently. lol. I need to chill

According to a guy who was at Busta's concert Sunday in Canada, he said that his Math debut will be in September, and Spliff might release an album at the end of the summer.

Woah. Eve got signed too? Aftermath is really starting to get more good rappers. Soon it will be as large as Def Jam.
