Honestly, before hating Ja was trendy, I never fucking liked him. I first heard Ja in '95 on the Mic Geranimo album "The Natural." He was featured along with DMX and JZ - I knew Ja would be wack from the start.

Seriously, Ja Rule was a shit from day 1... The only tracks he has which get pimped or standout as being anything special is 'Clap Back' and 'The Crown', thats hardly the hallmark of a good artist.

Ja's problem was he knew its harder to win the rap fanbase over than the teenboppers... The rap fanbase are more likely to base their judgement on the overall quality of the tracks and thus if your good then you've got long term respect, the teenboppers just like whoever the next kid likes and the minute your out of fashion, then you're basically just trash.

I mean Ja started doing cheesy pop tunes which he knew would get over solely based around the fact that kind of style was the In-thing amongst teenboppers. And he'd get instant teenbopper credibility since he was getting down with Pop icon J-Lo...

Then guys like the rap fanbase started basically speaking out about how horrible he sounded and how he was only selling based on the fact he was over with the teenboppers, and wasn't actually going out his way to produce decent music. When the rap fanbase started speaking out about it the stars like 50 Cent, DMX,Eminem started to realise it and started dissing him for being crap, since there icons it actually even caught on with the teenboppers seeing as 50 Cent is the new boy on the block.

Ja then tryed to win us over with his so called street album 'Blood in my eye'. The album was fucking awful.

Regardless of whether or not "icons," as you put it, spoke out about how wack Ja was - their opinions would not have stuck unless the fanbase indeed agreed that he was wack and deserving of the description.

Ja was wack from day one - I hate all of his albums.

actually, ppl dont hate the collabos he does wit r&b artists, they hate HIS songs cause they make em sound like he IS an r&b artist, like before i used to listen to his songs on the radio, but thats when i was like 12, then i grew up and got into hip hop a lot more and by 7th grade i realized ja rule was wack as fuck, im glad 50 came out and dissed his ass

we need more artists to come out and jus totally destroy the careers of artists like ja rule, referring to people like nelly, chingy, yin yang twins, etc. it would really help the hip hop community, by 50 taking out ja was just the first step, we'll take it one day at a time, and no im not dickridin 50, i dont even listen to him much or got his album, im just tellin it like it is
