Me personaly dont call my black friends ''niggas'', i'm not black but if i was i wouldnt use it or let someone call me it. I wouldnt go at someone because of it, I'd just let him know i dont like it, in a proper way. Same goes for ''Dog''. ( used by slave owners ).

Hmm... You are very correct in some ways... Yet, you're ignorant to a few facts... Race is used to define the ethnicity of ones self... The word isn't really used to be a... " variable" shall we say, that would differenciate the characteristics among humanity... Now, being black, white, spanish, etc... Has nothing to do with how "gangsta" you are... I've been with the Nation since day one, and I know some white kids who are way more gangsta than I am... And I'm a gangsta ass cat... The importance of holding such a title shouldn't be recognized for that matter anyway... Like here, I'm probably the most respected out of my set because I'm the only one that's going to graduate Highschool... So they acknowledge me for my street smarts, and my education... So being a "gangsta" has nothing to do with what race you are at all... It's just based on your actions, and carried with your respect for the street... As for the word "nigga"... That's different... See, to me, white people called us that for a long time... So long, that even we have it embeded in our minds to call each other that word... But as said as before, to us a "niggER" and a "niggA" are two different things... We use nigga in ways of welcoming, showing love, or even hate... We say " whas up nigga" as to white kids saying " What's up DUDE"... The word nigga is "Dude" for in a matter of speaking... But seeing a white kid say "whas up nigga" we see as mockery, because some of them try to slip it by racially, but think it's ok because they pronounced it differently... So it's not exactly ok for a white kid to say it, considering how it was used in it's history BY white people... you see? The word NIGGER in the dictionary refers to.. something along the lines of beging ignorant in one of it's definitions.. So if a white kid has the nerve to say it to me... They are being ignorant and blind to the diversity of race... So, " you saying that to me makes you more of a nigger than I am" is how I respond... Although the word was used to insult blacks, over the years.... A LOT of white niggers have developed as well... So it has nothing to do with skin color... The odd part is, I'm black and mexican... by taking this approach i'd say that anyone in america, and i mean like 99.99% of us are racist, at least in a subcontious way. America is a racists society, for obvious historical rasons...as members of this society we are therefor racists, because we aknowledge that something called "race" exists. im black, but actually a mix of shit, and call my-self black not because i think there is something about me that is inherantly black, but only to ensure in my own mind that im not a cracker. Because blacks have been oppressed up to this day, and will continue to be oppressed and disenfranchised in the future in america, those who are not black are racist, regardless of intention, by default...blacks are racist in a reaction to the opression and discrimination. We dont get exemption from being racist because were the ones beong opressed...the simple fact is when i, and most other blacks, see someone, we catagorize them based on our learned /constructed notions of race, and interact differently with some one because of it...when i see a random black guy in a white area i automatically say "wussup",often calling one a "brother",...this is my own personal proof that i am racist against all that arent black, because i recognize an alleged difference beween that person and respond accordingly. A white guy passing on the street will usualy be compulsively ignored by me, because i see the construced disimilarity instead of a person of fellow species. my point is that if you grew up in isolation of humans, and met a human, you wouldnt associate anything with that person, next to gender, that made you interact differently. But in our society, we have a paradigm attached to every one we see, and catagorize them likewise...its not realy our fault we are racist, because the constructed identities of race took hundreds of years to build, it is our fault for not recognizing our own racist tenancies as a first step to eliminating racisim...how are we going to rid social problem we dont look in the face, and admit we are a part of? -by my own definition of being racisit, hate, discriminating pracices, malice,ect. are not automatically implied...the most subtle racism is that done with good intentions, for they mask the true nature of our actions...a smart guy said racism is not what you say, buts its an action: this is true in his context,,,but to exploit his word(i apologize): isnt what you say an ACTION of speech? i have white freinds who sometimes say "nigga"- and knowing their good intentions, and lack of malice, i spare them the lecture...i just laugh it off and, admitingly hypocritically(most of us ina ddition to being racist, are hypocrits, at little fault of ouir own) call them crackers---some dont consider this racist, but if you re-define the meaning of the word-we are aknowedging imaginary and constructed differences between ourselves, and are hence unintentionally racist--
