ok, this is a knockout tourney - if you lose, you're out for good (unless we have a double no show in which case the best loser of that round gets to advance)

all matches will have a stipulation, for example you may be asked to use five particular words throughout the verse, or it might be a topical, you might have to use the same rhyme throughout the whole verse...etc...

once the matches have been posted you have 48hrs to check in and then 72 hours to post a verse after both people have checked in. if you fail to meet either deadline you're out, i dont care what your excuse is - and im gunna be strict on that this time. after that 72 hours there will be another 72 hour period for voting, if there's no 3-0 ko or five vote win then at the end of this period the person with the most votes will advance to the next round.

all matches will be five votes to win or 3-0 KO, except the final which will be 4-0 KO or 7 to win...

the line limits will be posted with each match, probably 12-24 lines for a battle match just to give you some sort of indication...a topical might be longer..

i hate this rule...but i feel it's become necessary...you must vote on at least one match in every round you are in (unless you cant because of the voting rules - no crew/hate votes etc) and also one match in the round after you are eliminated.

no feeding off verses - this means that the second person cannot drop anything in their verse that they could not have dropped if they had gone first.

no biting - anyone caught doing this will be dq'ed imeadiatley

no recycling - me or ell will decide what should be done about someone caught recycling - the consequence will depend on how much was recyled, was it word-for-word etc...an entire word-for-word verse will get you dq'd...for smaller offences your opponent will probably be awarded a vote or two...just dont do it....

'best loser' is the person who had the best verse out of all the losing verses in a particular round....if we need to pick a best loser then i'll ask three of the non-biasedesed (yeah its a word...shuddup lol) people i can find to say who they thought had the best verse outta the all the losing verses...

for example... say there were eight people left...

person 1 vs person 2
person 3 vs person 4
person 5 vs person 6
person 7 vs person 8

person 1 AND person 2 no show - so its a double dq

then say persons 4, 6 and 8 lose...who ever had the best verse out of them will get to go to the next round in place of person 1 or 2 to keep the numbers tidy so we dont end up with three-way batles and what not...


but everyone's gunna show up so this wont be necessary :D

the deadline was posted in your thread as 23rd July GMT...I know you weren't confused about the mix-up with the days because you thought you'd posted right before the deadline...plus i made the thread about working out GMT time...there's no excuse for missing it...and you should be held to GMT time because everyone in the playoff is...if i let everyone post before 12 in their own timezone you'd have 24hr differences in deadlines for people, which isnt fair...i've dq'd plently of people for the exact same reason, you dont get any special treatment virt....

the thread rules say "If you have any questions ask them yada yad yada" - it's up to you to be able to follow rules - if you didnt know what GMT was then you shoulda asked before the deadline...it's not my fault you didnt read your rules or peep the thread...the fact is it was there and there was plently of time for you to see it, whether or not you peeped it is irrelevant. you missed the deadline and there's no plausible excuse for it, so you're disqualified.
