Anyway, Canibus, because I believe that he can genuinely freestyle from what I've heard. He's pretty sick at it, too.

Eminem, despite many years underground battling, ciphering and so on, cannot freestyle. All his alleged 'freestyles' on the internet, with the exception of around two, are prewritten. The two I know of are his verse from "Rush Ya Clique" on Night Life (2000) by Outsidaz, which is pretty much gibberish....

Im a fan of both, actually been on Eminem's shit for a long time and I just been recently gettin into Canibus. But theres no question, Canibus is fuckin monster when it comes to lyricism. Thats all he does - he never really tells stories of his personal life, expresses love for his daughter, or anything like that which is one of Eminem's stronger qualities, but none of that comes into play on diss records. Canibus's only purpose as an artists is to kill mics. Eminem might be the more rounded artist, but when it comes to straight lyricism, battle raps, back-and-forth disses, Canibus would crush Em. Sure Em has made some really dope battle records (The Sauce, Say What You Say), but who has he really gone up against - Benzino, a magazine, ICP, Fred Durst, other people that arent even emcees like Jermaine Dupri and Christina Agilara??? He barely got by on Ja Rule (as wack as he is and as sad as this is, Ja came wit the stronger disses), and he never even responded to any of Royce's disses. Just one listen to the first few tracks of 2000 B.C., and you'd agree wit me.

My friend just brought over 2000 B.C and Rip the Jacker like 2 weeks ago and that shit just blew me away. Ive always heard people talkin about him and when I went to check him out, alls I saw were average ratings for his albums and with a 56k modem and not so much dough so alls I heard as a few freestyles and Genibus and it was alright but that was my extent into listening to him. Than my friend brings over 2000 B.C and its THE sickest album I've ever heard lyrically damn I gotta post some of it. Eminems sick, but not this sick lyrically:

Dude, those are not good lyrics. Try the song 'Buckingham Palace' for an example of Canibus' best stuff, and the album 'Mic Club: The Curriculum'. By the way, we're talking about what would happen in the event of a freestyle battle, not back and forth dissing. If it was a case of diss tracks, Eminem would obliterate Canibus, providing he didn't drop another Hail Mary 2003.

I can't believe I found someone who actually thinks LL won that battle. Canibus's career couldn't have been ended if he still is capable of making albums. LL just used his Def Jam stature to hurt Canibus, not his "talent." If you take a newest, illest track from LL and you compare it to any track on Canibus' Rip the Jacker album you'd see there is no comparison. Have you even heard Poet Laureate II ?!? About Eminem, I feel he has talent. I think everyone's heard that "freestyle" he did over the Got It Twisted beat but I'm damn sure that you gon' heard that verse on his album. Besides, lets say Em really does spit some nice freestyles on occaision, how long you think he can keep it up? I doubt Em's mental capacity is able to produce anything brilliant off a freestyle joint for an extended period of time. I mean c'mon:

I think that most people that responded to this post have taken a good while to think about this battle. I think if there was ever a battle that would truly be evenly matched this would be it. I think when Canibus attacks somebody in a direct diss his metaphor usage and language become secondary. He can damage a person and is very direct and to the point. Eminem however doesnt have much that the public doesnt know or he hasnt already said about himself. That I believe is a tactic he uses to play off other rappers and pretend like their lyrics arent as damaging as they really are. Eminem has become very mainstream and pop recently but deep down he did grow up in Detroit. He still has some nasty hardcore in him. I believe that Eminem starts off sittin on the throne and Canibus has to knock him off. Im truly a Canibus fan but I believe it would be nearly impossible for either rapper to win this battle outright.

Does nobody else think that these 2 guys could do a wicked collab? This beef from what i have recently read is over. I think if more people got behind the idea of a collab between these 2 rather than what they could do to each other then maybe it would happen.
