its a question thats bugging me. i want your views. i have in excess of 200 american hip hop albums. about 20 of which recieved large commercial success. i have all of the 5 mic albums and am an avid reader of thew source, i aint the only one. Hip Hop is huge here, check out the Westwood show. He's a prick but knows his stuff.

my theory on westwood.

i thin westwood is a fuckin succesful brother, every artsit that comes over the pond from the us for whatever reason actually wants to appear on westwoods radio sohw. he is very knowledgeble about the game, he plays a good selection of music, and i think has foundationed himself as a top dj.

I listened to a couple of Westwood's compilations. One was absolutely unlistenable and the other was pretty passable for a mainstream CD, though songs I liked on it were the exception rather than the rule.

true he does shit that out of the norm but it works right.

he is skinny yeah and so wot, biggie was a fucking huge bloke, he sold records no problem. bloody nas' dad is a blues player, who gives a fuck.

westwood is well respected by the music busnis, he does play the wishy washy crap sometimes, but he has in order to bring in the masses, but often he plays real raw music.

for english gangsta movies, there's a new one coming out called layer cake, another by guy ritchie. look out for our ones about football (soccer) hooligans as that will make u laugh, or cringe and then realise we're a bumch of crazy bastards at heart. of and try clockwork orange for an old but good one

i respect westwoods influence on music tho. if it wasn't for him the likes of Talib Kweli, Mos Def, or even Freeway wouldn't be as big here as they are

Clockwork Orange doesn't focus on the aspect of gangsterism, but more on how natural impulse is not somethin' that humans can control, but actually defines what they are and how they behave within society. It also addresses the philosophical and practical implications of social conditioning. Depth and shock value... nice film.
