talib kweli is looking for mainstream success, the tracks i heard on the album 'quality' were straying away from his older, more accomplished sound. i know he didn't make it with hi-tek, and he still stayed true to his beliefs, but it wasn't anywhere near reflection eternal or black star. mos defs album will probably go all jiggy, y'all heard that shit he did with faith evans. that made me cry. you need to check mf dooms new vaudeville villain album. if you know what progressive, complex, intelligent lyricism is, you'll know he is the dopest. this guy is the patron saint of multi syllables.

i couldn't agree more. i'm a rapper myself. and have been doing it for about 4 or 5 years now and i wouldn't even think of going professional. however as an artist it would be my dream of going platinum. but i've said all along i'd never change my style, or myself for anybody. my music is my love and my expression and it confuses me why an artist would want to change to go platinum and "sell out".
