Actually, Immortal Technique is horrible at freestyling. Everything else he does is on point, though. Great storyteller, skilled, entertaining, nice punchlines, etc...

whoa whoa, slow down. immortal technique is fresh, he is bringing a sound that might be new to people that listen to canibus all day, but what he is saying isn't exactly revolutionary for rap. man like mr lif have been saying what hes saying without the bullshit gangster posturing, and krs one and paris were may more daring, considering the time in which their records were released. Listen to lifs emergency rations, then technique, the production is way more progressive and original, and has far more complex themes. i completley agree with techniques political views, but i feel that he compromises himself by his gangsterisms, and it seems that he is trying to appeal to a wider audience by adopting different styles. he can therefore be inconsistent in what he is saying, and the way he says it. i think he is tight, but to say he is "one of the best ever" is a fucking, gigantic overstatement.

The way Aes spins concepts and plays on them is incredible. "How to Be a Carpenter" made me laugh.

the whole of labor days, now thats a fucking concept. he takes an idea that few rappers would consider using as a theme for a track, and makes it into a completely unique, intelligent and just fucking dope record. the density of his lyrics, whether you look at what he says, or the ways in which its said are insane. he is hip hops greatest lyricist, not all round rapper, he doesn't have the presence of krs or the flow of percee p, but his lyrics are the best i have ever heard.

I think Aesop is damn good, but Tech's delivery is better. Also, I think Sage Francis is better then Aesop Rock with his rhyming schemes, but is more a poet then a rapper..

i'm hearing you dude, but i disagree. tech has no where near as good delivery as aesop rocks. have you heard his warp speed verse on save yourself? half way through the second verse he spits at mach 3 or some shit. he can change tempo with complete ease, and has real feeling behind his words. some rhymers throw words about, when they are uneccessary, yet every word of aesops is delivered with some raw understanding. techniques sound is way more accessible, but i still think aes is much better. the guy is next level. in my opinion. and i can't see how anyone would consider sage francis' rhyme schemes as being better than aesop rocks. francis drops tightly constructed rhymes, but all he does is rhyme, aesop rock uses assonance and alliteration to emphasise the points he makes, not just the rhymes he drops.

I'd personally say that Aesop Rock is one of the best conceptualists. In terms of rhyming schemes, I'd say he was nowhere near the best.
