What is the best way of putting some weight on without supplemenst?I'm 6'0 189 I used to be 140 looking all sick and shit but now I look stocky.I put it on pretty quick too like over the course of less than a summer so keep in mind that I could gain weight pretty fast.
Gimme a diet or something.
P.S. If I start lifting will I look bigger?Some homies be telling me that.I might just look big but not actually put on no weight but my brutha tells me that lifting will relase hormones or some shit and i'l actually look bigger.

Tha Realnezz 08-28-2004, 01:47 PM P.S. I don't seem to lose that much weight either.Like when I get sick I only eat like once or 2x a day or when I got tests I take like 2 big meals a day and I don't lose any notceable weight.
I really don't wanna take supplements but I will if I have to.
Street Hop 08-28-2004, 02:11 PM All you got to do is up your calorie and protien intake. Go to GNC and get some of that Weight Gainer 2200 or even that 1800, take that WITH YOUR BREAKFAST, then grab a box of some Kong Protien bars, thats 40grams of protien and 460 Calories a bar, eat that inbetween meals as a snack and just go about your daily shit. In two weeks you will see 10 15 pounds of of solid mass, not no fat.
If you in a hurry just eat a bag of sugar every day for a week. That will get your weight up homie.

1) If you want to look cut, then you should lift light weights and do alot of repetitions.
2) If you wanna gain large muscle mass and get stronger, then you should lift heavy weights and do less repetitions.
3) If you're looking to loose weight, cut out the carbs (fruit, pasta, ect..)
4) Walk, run, or jog in the morning before you go to work or school, and at night when you get home from whatever.
5) Instead of eating 3 large meals, eat 6-8 small meals throughout the day..
6) Don't eat atleast two hours before you go to bed..
7) If you weight train, don't work the same muscles two days in a row. Your muscles need 24 hours to relax after they've been worked out..
There.. Seven simple rules to abide by.. You should do fine.. It also helps you to stick to your plan if you print out a calender and mark off days and stuff when you do things..

Like I mean I eat that dominican diet Rice,beans, and meat or Rice,eggs,potato salad or fried fish 24/7 that's my deit for reals..like 2 full servings at lunch and dinner..I really don't eat junk-food if i'm at home so I'm wondering if all that grease could help me out.For breakfast I scarff down mashed potatos and baceon or eggs,for brunch i really just eat whatver i could get at school.I snack on cereal and shit like that.I could say that's balanced.
Protien:I don't really like supplemts but i'll take proteins shakes like I had before.I wanna know if creatine is any good? or what other powder-shake type stuff is most effective.
Working-out:I could hit the gym all day for all I care.So that's not a problem.

This is almost exactly what I was goin to tell ya
Except I'd only cut the carbs when I wanna look ripped
But before you can get ripped you gotta put on mass
So it'sa seasonal thing
Plus cuttin carbs make you tired, carbs give you energy
Another alternative to getin lean is to up your water intake
Go get a gallon water jug
Approx. drink a gallon a day
But chu gotta be intune with your body
Experiment to see what works best for you
But just don't get too far from the basics
You should also get a scale and weigh your food

And I would replace the cereal wit' oats
That grease ain't no good for you
Fish is probably the best meat, but I wouldn't fry it
But chu need a "cheat day"
1 cheat day every week
Sweets n fatty foods ya know, the temptin stuff
Oh yeah, there's nothin wrong wit' creatine just make sure you eat enough and get enough water...
Otherwise you'd be taken a big risk!!!

^ The eating more times a day with less volume is designed to keep your energy up. If you wanna gain weight, then do not cut the carbs..
Working-out:I could hit the gym all day for all I care.So that's not a problem.
^ I know you're just saying that to say it, but Ima throw my imput on that comment as if it were to be taken seriously. I wouldn't spend more than a hour and a half working out. You should use 30 minutes to do cardio (running, biking, stairmaster). Then use the other hour to lift..

If you eat alot of small meals, your body will think food is always comming so it will think there is no need to store fat. Infact it is just the oposite my nigga, eat one or two nice sized meals and thats IT. Your body will be scared it might not get fed tomorrow so it will store every thing you comsume as fat.
Also up your calorie and protien intake like i said earlier. Good luck homie.

Very true. This is why lots of peeps can't loose weight because they starve themselves.. BUT, if you eat the right foods in the series that I mentioned then your body will use that food to give your cells energy which is what you need to gain the muscle mass you want.
He doesn't want fat, he wants muscule mass.. And always remember that muscle weights more than fat..

And on a side note: It's funny you post all this now because as recently as two night ago I was watching Penn & Teller's Showtime series show entitled Bullshit and the topic of discussion was genes.. You have to remember that whatever you are originally is what you're going to be. If you're fat, then you'll always be fat.. If you're skinny, then you'll always be skinny. Some people have the opportunity to build muscle, but not everyone. Take a look at your mom or Dad; you're basically looking at your future..

What kind of self-defeatist non-sense... I know of skinny people who got bulky (muscular) and people with low metabolism who ended up skinny. Genes can be defeated. Plus if you looked at my mom and dad you'd notice that I have over foot of height over them. So don't go over simplifying the matter. The only way to know one's true potential is to push one's limits. Only the undetermined fail to acheive results.

You're taking me too literal. What I'm saying is that even if you're skinny you can gain muscle mass, but you're not gonna go from 110 pounds to 170 pounds.. You're just gonna be a ripped skinny guy.. So if you got dreams of going from Andy Dick to Brock Lesnar, it just ain't gonna happen..
