Story continues below adNEW YORK -- A mix of cocaine and a prescription painkiller caused the death of rapper Ol' Dirty Bastard, the city medical examiner's office said Wednesday.

The 35-year-old performer, born Russell Jones, collapsed and died Nov. 13 at New York recording studio.

I can't be disappointed in him," Jarred Weisfeld, Jones' manager, said of the final autopsy report. "Me being upset about him doing something isn't going to bring him back."

Weisfeld did not know why Jones was taking the prescription painkiller tramadol, but he noted that ODB had broken his leg two days before his death while performing in Denver.

"All I know is ... he was hurting," Weisfeld said.

Peter Frankel, Jones' attorney since the rapper's 2003 release from prison after a drug-possession conviction, said Jones was being tested weekly for drugs as a condition of his parole.

"As far as I know, he never failed a drug test," Frankel said. "It's a little unusual that the toxicologist would find cocaine in his system, especially since he went 18 months with clean urine."

Jones had wrapped his latest album, "Brooklyn Zoo," and was about to unveil a clothing line called Dirt McGirt, named after one of his many aliases.

From what I heard, police were coming to his studio so he ate his bag of coke, which opened, and he died of an overdose
