View Full Version : Nas out there as one of the best lyricist
Unfadeable 11-19-2004, 01:12 AM To me Nas is up there wit pac and big as the greatest lyricists, his rhymes are some deep as shit, illmatic and stillmatic both bomb ass albums, favorite nas tracks ether and one mic, some deep shit, can't wait for street disiciple to drop on the 30th this month to comp that shit, anyways u agree for nas to one of the dopest lyricists in the rap game.
Lexus2005 11-19-2004, 02:08 AM couldn't agree wit you more ....
Esocra 11-20-2004, 01:51 AM couldn't agree wit you more ....
Lyrically, he is better than Pac or Big.
FlowMatic 11-22-2004, 04:01 PM pac isnt one of the best lyricist, he was just real in a time of phony MC's which is like Nas now, and pac had 1 of the tightest vocals along wid big, but id have to say BIG is the best lyricist, right behind him is Nas. alltime best would have to be Nas tho cuz he tells stories in most of his rhymes, and hes a spiritual brotha as well
Esocra 11-22-2004, 07:36 PM pac isnt one of the best lyricist, he was just real in a time of phony MC's which is like Nas now, and pac had 1 of the tightest vocals along wid big, but id have to say BIG is the best lyricist, right behind him is Nas. alltime best would have to be Nas tho cuz he tells stories in most of his rhymes, and hes a spiritual brotha as well
I have to disagree with Pac being "real." Dude attended dance school. Dude was a DANCER for The Digital Underground. Dude beefed with Big just to sell records. All of this shit doesn't equate to my definition of "real" but this is JMO.
Venomous 11-22-2004, 07:48 PM ^Yeh Pac wasn't that real and neither was BIG. @pac was in goddamn ballet and attended a private school, that nigga was not no gangster. And Biggie was just a fake pussy, although he was a great lyricist. Pac was great just for deep material.
IMO Nas is better then both of em.
EAZZY 11-22-2004, 07:54 PM If you gotta go with a rapper that's real, than ya'll should listen to Mc Eiht. He got stories in his rhymes, but only the real stuff.
NeoLogik 11-23-2004, 09:48 PM Nas = G.O.A.T.
DIJINN 12-11-2004, 10:47 AM Nah i dont think pac was a gangsta and all that but he would fuck any nigga up in his way.. He wuz more of a legend though if u ever seen him live at his shows it wuz fuckin amazing best time of ur life But sayin hes not real is a real diss to hip hop cuz everyone that at top of this game wuz inspired by him
HoBGoBLiN 12-17-2004, 11:28 AM Nas is the greatest rapper that ever lived, in fact the greatest artist full stop.
He wasn't a gangsta but he is street, he neva claimed gangsta status like Pac.. Even though I respect Pac n the guy was undeniably deep, he wasn't as real as he made out like people already said.. What I dislike most about him though is that when his music career took off he started hatin white people, even though he went to school and 'ballet' with them n had many white friends.. Pretty hypocritical
Anywayz yea, Nas for president
Wayne Watts 12-28-2004, 07:35 PM nas is the greatest he just never had great producers after it was written. pac, biggie and jay always had nice ass production, and you have to remember that production is the first thing to inspire an artist. if you listen to all the best produced tracks that nas is on he completely murders every beat. nas doesnt have the most versatile delivery (ala jayz) or the hottest punch lines (jada/big) or the most dramatic flow (ala pac) but when it comes to straight hiphop tracks, nas is the best by far. i havent heard an mc who can straight murder a beat like nas time and time again. and he only gets better...
Wayne Watts 12-28-2004, 07:38 PM then again, jay has murdered many tracks as well. its very close between nas and jay to me.
and lets not forget about Big L
Packo X 12-28-2004, 07:50 PM Yeah.. Nas has got to be the greatest lyricist out there, his words are those which inspire a brother to put pen to paper while others only get heads nodding nahmean..
You can not compare Jay Z and Biggie to Nas, they the party people where as Nas is a street poet, and writes mostly about topics which get u thinking or get you saying "Damn.. why didnt i think of that"
many people say that 2pac was a great lyricist, but noway is he anywhere near Nas.. this playa just keeps on getting better and better.. looking forward to Lost Tapes 2.. hopefully another marvel in his career.. peace
