thanks for the help.
Kataracks 12-29-2004, 06:34 PM 1. Everybody has mental blocks from time to time, its usually something you can't control, it just happens. The thing is you shouldnt force yourself to write when you don't feel like it or if nothing is coming to you, just chill and when the vibe comes around you'll know it. When you force shit thats when it comes out garbage, so quality is better than quantity.
2. Depends on what you mean by vocabulary. You don't need "big words" to write much less freestyle, if you ask me the only thing "big words" are good for are just making you sound like a fucking nerd. However, you will need words that rhyme printed somewhere in ya brain. Then when you get that down you just need to practice freestyling (if your a beginner it might be better to practice by yourself when noone else is around to clown your ass) then when you think your ready go battle some peeps and get experience.
Another thing to get down with words is to use multiple syllable rhyme schemes so even if you don't have a "large vocabulary" those "simple words" you use won't sound like nursery rhymes when you put them together as multiples. You don't ne multiples in "every" bar but it would be good to fit them in most of times to make your flow sound good.

VocabulouS 12-29-2004, 07:20 PM Vocabulary? Read a dictionary. It sounds gay but you'll be suprised at what words you'll remember when you're writing. Also, a thessaurus is a good thing to have as well. Helps you cut back on repetitive use of words.
D-Illar-1 12-29-2004, 07:43 PM A regular dictionary is not necessary. Go buy a rhymin dictionary from a bookstore for about 5 or 6 bucks. When people refer to "vocab" in rap, they mean how many words you know that can go in the rhyme scheme. Not big and complex words. Trust me, it's easy to do multiples with a rhyming dictionary.
VocabulouS 12-29-2004, 07:51 PM ^^ I believe this news however. Using a regular dictionary is a good way to get around using the same words over and over again. Also some people like to using big words in rhymes and hae no idea what they mean. A dictionary can solve those problems.

other than that remain cocnsistant, besides the stop filler is no use for, unless you can pick this up in your next line, adress every word you add to your rhyme, therfore exactly you know, so on and so on
remin off the top dont no recycle kills you on the inside whether you relize this or not, reason being with the reused version the copncept will seem played to you, thus leading to a early ending, plus when you walk away you wont be as glad that you dropped a fresh rhyme instead of a old dusted off one,
always be orginal this leads to newer lines, because with the drop of one cold line the next line will be derived from such, meaning that in all once you get up its hard to come down unless you recycle so there you have it, dont forget to rhyme
kidd1ne 01-04-2005, 01:38 AM what do you guys mean by be original
koesh_hond 01-04-2005, 06:06 AM it means like, don't use any punchlines, wordplay or phrases that somebody else used and you just changed the words a little bit, but it still means the same thing
koesh_hond 01-04-2005, 11:18 AM just want to know, if you must write alot, how much is alot, like 1 hour every day or 1/2 hour every day, obviously when you feel like it, but for how long?

kidd1ne 01-07-2005, 09:11 PM aight thanks alot..one more question when you right lines should you stay on the same concept when it comes to bars for example....you rhyme about.......like guns on a bar. cuz what i used to do is on every line my subject always changed for example i would free about...sayy.......sex in my first line and then in my last line i'd rap about................weed..should i free like that or sick on a topic for each topic like....
kiddz see my on the street evading they block they start runnin/
cuz they cant stand the fact that theyre streetz is mine for the takin/
^^ see up there im on topic. about their street and how im gonna take it over.
and below is what i used to do
kiddz see me on the street - invading theyre block they start runnin//
cant touch this kid, if they try bitches move on to the life of the non-living.
so which way is better on TOPIC on each bar..cuz i prefer it that way.....cuz i can actually work up some vocab on stayin on topic
well after this i'll be set on writing and just practicing. ahah and sorry for the wack flow...lol take it ez on a newb..lol
be easy

My Only Beef w/ You Is, How Can You Give Advise.. When Your Not Even Elevated Yourself Yet?
Freestyler84 01-11-2005, 09:27 AM Well A Thing I Do And I Realized Eminem Does It To Is I Will Rhyme And Freestyle To Myself Repeadaly And When It Comes To A Battle The Words Just Pop Out Because Its Like I Drill All The Words In My Head. You Dont Really Need "Big Use Of Vocabulary" When You Freestyle, But I Guess You Could Use That Kind Of Vocabulary In A Song.
Also When You Have These Mental Blocks Just Keep Freestyling To Yourself Thats What Helps Me But Try It Out Let Me Know If It Works For You.
-- Ox E on ---- 01-11-2005, 10:58 AM Adverb, evidently there is beef, man elevate you aitn up on this, honestly check how about somthing to settle the score- Fugees- a topical or such to show the true skills, before you count me out, check the latest, you will be hearing from me, becasue I cannot repect empty bullshit talk, yo I do give you some props far as skill, some what I mean no need to critic when you skill is not that substantial to superior prior to this, rap, get ripped
XxAdverbxX 01-12-2005, 01:05 AM ^You Can't Be Serious... Kiddo...
You Can Barely Spell.. Then Along Rap.. I Seen ya Battle against Xkwisite... You Had a Tough Time Tryin to beat Him.. What Makes You Think Your Anywhere Near Close to Me?
Like I Told You in Pm.. When You Messaged Me.. When You Can Beat Some Vets Then Come See Me.. Otherwise... Your Just Wastin Ya Typin Skills, By Taken The Time to Even Type to Me..
Dumb Rookies :(
Freestyler84 01-13-2005, 12:41 PM I Love Freestyling Verbally, But Some Words You Say With Your Voice Can Make Two Words That Dont Even Rhyme, Rhyme. So Freestyling On A Computer Is Really Diffrent From Real Life You Know? So If Your Good On The Computer With The Rhythms Then Your Really Good In Real Life..That Is If It's Real Freestyling.

Exactly, I can only write when Im in the mood, when I have shit on my mind
I could sit down for 2 hours n come up with nothin, other times I can write like 15 bars on my phone while sat on the bus.. Its all upto you, whatever you're capable of..
Same with freestyles, I freestyle better when Im focused fully, but Im startin to get better at spittin whenever Im called on
kidd1ne 01-14-2005, 12:04 PM yo if i wanted to could i just stick to spittin instead of writing cuz seriously i enjoy actually spittin my head out instead of writing it out
