It's in progress but when it comes out, it will be the best by far. It's that revolutionary. Thank you Bose!

damn, I remember reading this shit quite a while ago. The technology looks extremely promising but the drawback is that it was insanely heavy. They tried to sell it to GM I believe but it made vehicles car too heavy to be worth the handling advantages. If i remember correctly, they're looking for a third-party compan to come in an split some development costs while they refine it and try to cut own on the weight - but it deflooks promising. A vehicle that could lean into turns would be amazing - but it will dEF have it's drawbacks - that' for sure. There's already vehicles on the street with "comfortable" suspensons that can still meet the edge of tire technology. That's the real challenge. Not the suspension. Round of applause to Bose though.

No, this is entirely new, what they had before used hydralics. Mercedes Benzes ABC (auto balance control) suspension uses hyrdralics. The cost is that they are heavy and use a lot of power slowing the vehicle down more and guzzling gas. But Benze owners can afford the gas and those things have more than enough horsepower. The Bose system only uses wires and magnets just like speakers do. It's very light The target total weight for the system is 200 pounds, a goal Bose is confident of attaining., uses less energy, and it it can generate some energy (from bumps in the road) to recharge the system. They're are hurdles, but the only apparent draw backs are cost (as with all new technology, but this system doesn't need anything exotic), energy consumption (which is only 2-3 horsepower), and possibly maintenance (mainly since it's new technology, but there's no reason that should be big).

More then likley this will never see the open market untill the patten runs out and car manuf can develope there own version.

After reading this it doesnt seem much different {in basic concept} from computer controled suspensions. Volvo offers a option of a body roll stability where as soon as the computer notices body roll strong then ?22 degrees? the comput offsets the difference and levels the vehical evenly. When road and track did the SUV comparison. They could not get the Volvo XC90 to flip at 75 mph where ALL OTHER suvs where rolling around 40-55 mph. Once again the system they use is different in design only.

Yea, it is a computer controlled suspension. It just uses a way better method of controlling the suspension that allows for much faster, more powerful, and more variable response. Other suspension computer controlled suspensions just stiffen them self in response to bumps and rolling, Bose suspension can actually be more proactive and it can extend itself as well as stiffen. Anyway, Bose has money they could get something going. I doubt they'll just get robbed of the idea when the pattent runs out. They put tons of research and money into this thing.
