I have a 87 Honda Accord, (yes it's an old car but it's in mint condition & fixed up well so don't laugh @ me ;o( ..) I know depending on what type of car you have and color determines the price of a paint job, but can someone give me an estimate or price range of how much money I need as a start?

Ok take this into your thoughts.
Since you say its in mint condition i will assume no dents or rust.

If your looking to get it painted the same color a macco can paint your car for as little as $250. Do not expect much from this paint job as it will be a $250 paint job.

If your looking for a quality paint job of a different color. I would sugest that you strip the car down as much as possiable on your own to save BIG $$$$ money in labor fee's.
If you can take car of all the labor work in prepping the car for paint you can get a quality paint and seal job for about $1,000.

If you are unable to handle all the prep work yourself then be prepared for about an extra $500

What is involved in the prep work?

prepwork.. sanding down the whole car... (to get all the clear coat off)

then pussy(if needed)

primer

wet sand

whipe down of car

paint

then wet sanding after its dry
