Hey can someone hit me up with some good albums? These don't have to be classics because I'm pretty sure everyone's heard all the essential gangsta albums and golden age albums, but just shit that's good and has no or hardly any skippable filler. It doesn't have to be abstract shit either, ain't nothing wrong with rap that is catchy just as long as the lyrics are up to match and some of the songs have a message whatever it may be.

Ok...so what you are asking is to list up all 'good' rapalbums since the 70s for someone we have never spoke to or never even heard of? Specify your request.

Empakt137

Also any albums that deal wit the struggle. I mean you've all heard this before but nowadays rappers say they the underdog, but never rap like it. Too goddamn cocky

this is going to get a lot of bullshit responses and people will throw what they like, not whats really good and has no skipable track in it,

but I'll do my best to give you a heads up on some classic or very good albums that are slept on......no point in really stating all the obvious ones, unless your new to hip hop then I can give you a list too

Cormega - The Realness
Cormega - The Testament
Large Professor - First Class
Masta Ace - Disposable Arts
Blackstar (Talib and Mos)
Tragedy Khadafi - Still Reporting
Canibus - Rip The Jacker
U God - Golden Arms Redemption
Killah Priest - Black August
Wordsworth - Mirror Music
Jean Grae - This Week

that is a good list, dont think any hip hop head would disagree. this is pure hip hop here, all dope lyrics, very good production, and most important, their meaningful albums

peace

aight cool. it's just that I think I'll be laying off the new material for awhile. there isn't anything wrong with being overconfident in a few songs, makes for bangin tracks actually, but I'm just kind of sick of rappers not spittin' made and hungry, reppin for the cats on the grind.

The Spectrum

^ Are those truly worthy enough being listed next to Paid in Full? I think not.

And that Gangstarr album was called Full Clip.

Canibus' album - yes. Others, maybe not.

even Rip The Jacker has 2-3 skippable tracks on it

and Beautiful Struggle was the disappointment of the year
Talib couldnt live up to the hype,
and thats a shame because he had a lot of momentum going for him

02-26-2005, 07:17 PM
You think? I can't skip a track on Rip The Jacker. *shrug*

And Talib's album isn't as good as BlackStar or Reflection Eternal but it was still a very good album in my opinion.

The Spectrum

the beat is hard to swallow on No Return........its a track you listen to twice, and not again

then showtime at the gallow and the one after that too is iffy, the sped up spanish voice beat is iffy

the lyrics is still ill but the beats are borderline wack and definetly not suitable for Canibus

rest is pretty ill

It's a shame that Canibus has never really been on an instrumental that has matched his lyrical ability.

A few "really good" albums:

Joe Budden - Joe Budden
Common - One Day It'll All Make Sense
Talib Kweli - Reflection Eternal
Murs - 3:16
Chino XL - Here To Save You All / I Told You So
Canibus - Mic-Club
Gangstarr - Full Clip
Jadakiss - Kiss Of Death
Tragedy Khadafi - Still Reporting

...to name a few. I may have repeated some albums, as I didn't read all the posts.
