Royce tried to ride off eminem and still failed miserably and then started crying and started beefing with Em. Jada has more class i mean Puffy is raping him he owns his publishing but Jada aint bitching about it. Royce is a great rapper but not in Jada's league Evil Half 03-19-2005, 11:45 PM guys keep in mind this is the same dude that wanted to know if royce smokes. i like jada a lot, he kills a lot of tracks, but what the fuck is the point of this thread? homeboy stop starting shit that no one cares about. Jada has more class i mean Puffy is raping him he owns his publishing but Jada aint bitching about it. Royce is a great rapper but not in Jada's league Alright, where should i begin? First of all, you are obviously not familiar with the terms "song writer" and "able to put together a sick album" cuz those are two things royce can do that jada can not. Jada has 2 entire albums with every verse jam packed with punchlines. The man is a punchline rapper and ONLY a punchline rapper. He is very good at what he does, but what he does isn't good. Neither of his albums have been solid releases, and neither of his albums have had any variety. Royce actually talks ABOUT things and gets personal with his shit. All we know about jada is that he thinks he's real hood. Some ppl perfer punchline rappers to rappers with something to say, and thats fine. Styles P talks about things. even sheek louch. and neither of them could touch royce on the mic either. Royce>>>Jada..thats all there is to it... peace 5'9_M.I.C 03-20-2005, 02:48 PM pointless thread, u obviously know nothing about lyrical ability to say jada is better than royce, jada is aight but u cant compare the 2, royce is on a whole other level, just cause jada is more commercially successful dont mean shit Buck 03-20-2005, 03:20 PM Royce has 1 very good album Death Is Certain. Rock City was trash it had 3 great songs Boom, Life and King of Kings everything else was garbage Jada has a lot of classic material Kiss The Game Goodbye, Kiss Of Death and both Lox albums And look at there crews LOX will lyrically rape everybody in D-Elite And Jada aint just a punchline rapper listen to WHY Retro Fo 03-20-2005, 04:09 PM yes, Why being the only example you can give. Funny how u can appreciate songs like "King Of Kings" but still think jada>royce... some people have no idea what they're talking about when they're posting Ford 03-20-2005, 09:36 PM Honestly Retro, what the fuck are they smoking? Look, I think Jada is a great rapper, he has a few album cuts that are worth hearing, but it's mostly just jokes. That's the thing you have to understand about certain rappers. Many of these 'punchline' MCs are the same kinds of guys who were always clowning around in high school, cracking jokes and making fun of every target in sight. They live off of laughter, of the approval of their peers, and they fight to constantly keep the laughter flowing. Most of these people end up becoming Stand Up Comedians, but others take that shit to music. Sometimes Jada can be really clever. But that's the extent of it: clever. Jada's more serious songs, where he attempts to talk about real issues and less superficial topics, tend to falter in those aspects because in the end the song's forced and contrived nature shine through. Look at the lyrics on "Why". For the most part, they merely generalize and barely touch on a number of hastily introduced topics, which he quickly names off hoping to produce at least one strong reaction from the listener's associations to the topic (like the election in California, President Bush, or the twin Towers.) Jadakiss can't elaborate on his feelings or articulate how he feels about these topics. He just isn't that kind of MC. If you like jokes, if you like his melodies, then good. He's not bad at what he does, he's a niche rapper. But he can't make a complete album, rather than a CD with 2-4 hits and a collection of tracks that were sitting around the studio. Those types of rappers are Mixtape MCs, local favorites who appeal to the senses of their fan bases. This isn't an attack on Jada, or dissing him in any way. He's the best example of these kinds of MCs, arguably the best of such punchline fan favorites. But in terms of professional rapping, in terms of the skill that MCs use to deliver their rhythmic poetry in an effective and well crafted matter, Jadakiss just can't technically match an MC like Royce. Take Ludacris, a rapper notorious for making progressive and complete albums. On both Word of Mouf and Chicken n Beer, he refrains for the most part from using pure punchlines. In Word of Mouf, he unleashes this repression on Cry Babies, the smartest and most prolific (in my opinion) punchline song ever recorded. On Chicken n Beer, Luda realizes the formula and follows up with Hip-Hop Quotables, a hookless song that doesn't attempt to be anything more than a collection of catch-phrases and sound-bytes. However, both of these Luda albums are nonetheless complete albums by a sick lyricist. You cannot by definition classify any punchline MC in the same group of skill and talent as a true lyrical rapper. Royce is undoubtedly a lyricist of of the highest order, capable of both murdering would-be rivals and expressing the most personal of emotions. Listen to Life, a heartfelt message by Royce to his son about the harsh realities of existence and the best way to spend the time we have. Or perhaps you remember The Message, a little song on The Chronic 2000 where "Dr. Dre" comes to terms with the death of his brother. Unfortunately, the good Doc couldn't seem to express the complex emotions associated with his tragic loss due to the pain of his loss, so he payed Royce 5'9" to ghost-write the song for him. So there you have it: The man who mainstreamed Hip Hop, who's influenced and steered the course of the industry his entire career, "the Doc they told you to go see {when you're album sales weren't doing so well}", The Ultimate Hip-Hop Professional goes to see WHO when he needs tight lyrics? That's right: Royce 5'9". His 'lyrics is fire' and he takes no microphone prisoners. If you honestly think that a punchline MC, ANY comedy rapper, can possibly surpass the professionalism and talent of a poet-musician like Royce 5'9", then we'll gauge how valid such claims are when we hear Jada's response to 50 Cent's disses on "Piggybank". Assuming Jada says anything. Chuy 03-20-2005, 09:56 PM [when we hear Jada's response to 50 Cent's disses on "Piggybank". Buck 03-21-2005, 05:26 PM lmao at these royce groupies that cant admit that jadakiss is a better rapper than there royce Raid 03-21-2005, 07:42 PM Also jada gets more cool points from me because he went platinum and did it by himself. Royce tried to ride off eminem and still failed miserably and then started crying and started beefing with Em. Jada didn't even go Platinum, check the RIAA database fagget, Gold, on ONE album. And royce wasn't trying to ride off of Em, in fact, he could've had all the superstar firepower on his album he wanted if he would've finished out Eminem's tour as his hype man, but he deicided not to and went straight into the studio, then D-12 came back into the picture, and essentially confused Em into black balling royce and his friendship. Royce sent a freestyle to Em that said "Fuck anger management, I need someone to manage my anger" and D-12 blew it into him dissing Eminem. If Royce wanted to sell, he'd be trying to blow up the beef on Death is Certain, Did he? No. Jada is ok, but he's just a punchline rapper nothing more. Get your shit straight for you start talking, dumb fuck. Buck 03-21-2005, 08:02 PM that freestyle Royce and Tre did was a lil diss to Eminem. Even Royce said on Beef 2 that Em thought it was a diss. Royce just turned it into d12 turned Em against him. Proof used to say all the time in interviews that he thought Royce was a great rapper. Royce was just jealous that devils night was a commercial success and rock city flopped Bottom line is Royce will never be as great as Jadakiss And even Royce's EX lover Eminem thinks Jadakiss is a better rapper than himself "Here's the order of my list it goes Reggie, Jay, 2pac, and Biggy, Andre from Outkast, Jada, Kurupt, Nas and then Me" - Till I Collapse be Envied 03-21-2005, 08:28 PM lol this kids retarded 36chambers 03-21-2005, 09:42 PM Jada is nice, wether he is better than Royce... I dunno. By posting this question on a Royce fan site you will only get one answer, same as if you posted this on a Jadakiss site. Anyway... by judging on quality of album, I could possibly name 10 MCs better than either Jada or Royce, because neither of them for me have really made a solid album as of yet. maak2k4 03-22-2005, 08:26 AM Oh come on man .... U nuts!!!! Kiss is tite, no doubt, but Royce got maaad crazy MC skills!
