hows about get some measurements of the 2.0 you want, measure your engine compartment space, then check the mounts for the 2.0, and check the mounts for your 1.6, then try to imagine how much modification will be involved with the swap, including adjustments to drivetrain alignments, intake position, clearance issues, etc.

Fuck a V8, unless you need the torque for towing or actually have enough modification for substantially higher HP on the engine to use the torque, you're being clowned evertime you fill up.

the early `86-`89 models of the talon have battery/engine consistency problems, and the Geo metro, is like a family sedan car, so if your trying to equip a 2.0 on it most likely a tire will spring off it.

Hondas are well built very reliable cars with some of the best performing engines in the world. Honda dominated CART racing (it's like Indy racing) because of its superior engineering. To call Honda crap, is riddiculous. You will not find another company that combines horsepower with feul efficency and low emissions more effectively than Honda (if you really look at it, they even out engineer BMW). Civic's are cheap, but they are better than any other car of comparable cost and the Civic is not all that Honda makes, they also make Acura and the new RL is a marvel of modern technology. VW (the current VW) isn't trash either, regardless of Hitler's monetary support, VW makes some of the nicest interiors, their cars ride smooth, and they are resposible for the new found engineering greatness of Audi. To call VW crap is to call Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, and Bugatti crap because VW owns all of them. VW also has close collaborations with Porsche they've been sharing parts since Porsche was invented.

As for Geo's, every one of their models is unreliable cost cutting trash. Tune that thing and it is guaranteed to break, no matter how fast you make it.

My 2 cents: Go Toyota!... albeit I dont drive a toyota car I drive a toyota truck, so I dont know much about toyota's fast cars or their performance, all I know is that my truck is rock solid and reliable, never had anything break, normal maintenance (oil changes, air filter, tire rotations) still running like the day I got it.

or you can just not have to do any work whatsoever and get a subaru wrx sti like me and be happy.

I love the toyota mr2's and the supras though...
