Non Phixion are alot better....
The Spectrum 06-06-2005, 03:26 PM JMT best rap group hands down, no competition
all JMT is, is Vinnie who cant hold an album down himself (he proved that twice now) and cant spit a verse in one take and dont really rap about anything real (maybe like 3 tracks I ever heard from him was on some real shit, rest was bogus references to death and shit) and Stoupe holding down the beats, he;s the only reason JMT is what it is
supposedly Jus back now, so yeah they nice now again but HELL NO their not the best
not even close, not even worth mentioning
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I recommend
Cormega - The Legacy (song)
wedontstop 06-06-2005, 09:27 PM i would recommend:
Styles P - A Gangster & A Gentleman
Sheek Louch - Walk Witt Me
Raekwon - Immobillarity (To 50 cent dick riders: Give this man i chance!)
these are all albums
Immobilarity is a nice album! No skip tracks on that album. Definately get that!
Donmega 06-07-2005, 04:57 AM yeah, its his best album ever
omicron 06-07-2005, 12:15 PM all JMT is, is Vinnie who cant hold an album down himself (he proved that twice now) and cant spit a verse in one take and dont really rap about anything real (maybe like 3 tracks I ever heard from him was on some real shit, rest was bogus references to death and shit) and Stoupe holding down the beats, he;s the only reason JMT is what it is
supposedly Jus back now, so yeah they nice now again but HELL NO their not the best
not even close, not even worth mentioning
damn man u serious
he mite just rap all about death n shit but his lines are amazing
i havent heard anything like it in any other rapper
im gonna have to disagree with u on that one man calling vinnie bogus
and stoupe holding down the tracks, and jus allah???
i cant think of a lot of rap groups who are better
maybe not the best, but they are up there
The Spectrum 06-07-2005, 12:46 PM yeah, its his best album ever
Only Built 4 Cuban Linx is 1000000 times better then Immobillarity.
That's not an opinion either.
damn man u serious
he mite just rap all about death n shit but his lines are amazing
i havent heard anything like it in any other rapper
Vinnie did bring in a new form of emceeing and a lot of nobodies have tried to copy his success. But at the end of the day, what he says is not important.
If what you say is average, you will not be mentioned with the greatest rappers
Cormega
That's where Vinnie fits in. Because in 10 years people will still remember Biggie spitting Juicy, Pac spitting Changes, and so on. But NO ONE will remember Vinnie saying he'll leave you 'fucked up like sex on an airplane'.
Lame. Netcee mentality.
When Melle Mel made the Message, it was monumental
not only was it dope, it spoke on our issues
Cormega
What issues does Vinnie spit that you can relate to ?
None..............he's a gimmick rapper. Don't get me wrong, I am a fan and I tip my hat to what he did, but he's at the point in his 'career' where he can either be defined by saying some real shit or becoming dead and stagnant because he's been rapping about the same shit for the last 11 years. Kind of. Went from rapping about egyptian mytholodgy to breaking your back in interesting ways to holding hammers to 'our clique hustles jum' and back again to hurting you in the worst position in a turkish prison. :rolleyes:
im gonna have to disagree with u on that one man calling vinnie bogus
and stoupe holding down the tracks, and jus allah???
i cant think of a lot of rap groups who are better
maybe not the best, but they are up there
Vinnie is bogus because of what I mentioned above
and because he can't hold an album down by himself
Stoupe DOES hold down the tracks........if you had some other lame instead of Stoupe then all you get is a 7L and Esoteric. :sick:
Jus Allah called Vinnie and Stoupe a bunch of faggots and left the group.
In essence he only appeared on one album with them. Supposedly he's back but that's another story. JMT is and always will be Vinnie and Stoupe, no one else. Vinnie said so himself.
Better groups / duos then JMT ?
Gangstarr
Wu Tang
Juice Crew
Firm
Talib / Hi Tek
Mobb Deep
Black Market Militia
Screwball
MOP
Dead Prez
keep going ?
Only Built 4 Cuban Linx is 1000000 times better then Immobillarity.
That's not an opinion either.
I can only agree with that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
prankster198 06-07-2005, 02:11 PM Cormega-The saga remix
Dis is Nice
Tw!stEd 06-07-2005, 02:31 PM I like JMT, I think they have something to vibe too.
Gangstarr-> Ain't heard much of.
Wu Tang -> I would aggree they are one of the best groups in History.
Juice Crew-> Don't know them.
Firm-> Don't know them.
Talib / Hi Tek-> I would highly disagree, I really don't like them.
Mobb Deep-> Again, they bring alot to the hardcore style, but don't like them as much as JMT.
Black Market Militia->Don't know them.
Screwball-> Don't know them
MOP-> I think they are well below JMT
Dead Prez-> I prefer JMT better, but like some of Dead Prez's political stuff.
All the ones that I don't knoiw I'll check out.
Also, JMT have done many great collab's, especially on the album Visions from Ghandi. I don't think Vinnie Paz is the best on his own, but with other people I think he bring's something different. Him and Jus Allah are good together.
The Spectrum 06-07-2005, 03:31 PM him and Jus are great together...........
and with all your opinions on those crews...........you need to know the difference between what your opinion is and what fact is. I like JMT better then MOP but in terms of significance, influence, how long they been around, who they worked with, and all that other stuff......MOP is a lot more legendary then JMT, by far.
Gangstarr-> Ain't heard much of.
Its DJ Premier (arguably the best hip hop producer of all time) and Guru, one of the smoothest emcees ever on a mic. He changed the game and brought forth a new genre blending jazz and hip hop.
Wu Tang -> I would aggree they are one of the best groups in History.
Juice Crew-> Don't know them.
Big Daddy Kane
Biz Markie
Craig G.
Kool G. Rap
Master Ace
Marley Marl
MC Shan
Roxanne Shante
Intellegent Hoodlum aka Tragedy Khadafi
simply put Juice Crew is prolly one of the best of all time
Wu Tang is the only other crew even worth mentioning next to them
Firm-> Don't know them.
Nas
Az
Cormega (originally)
Nature (replaced Mega)
Foxy Brown
never heard Desperados ft. Canibus by the firm ?
dude check em out, lol, they formed in mid to late 90s
Talib / Hi Tek-> I would highly disagree, I really don't like them.
as I said....opinion and fact are two different things
Talib has accomplished way more, and Hi Tek is one of the most under rated producers in the game
Mobb Deep-> Again, they bring alot to the hardcore style, but don't like them as much as JMT.
same comment.........Infamous and Hell on Earth are considered all time classic albums by all of hip hop, they brough forth the modern Queensbridge era. JMT aint on their level.
Black Market Militia->Don't know them.
Killah Priest
Tragedy Khadafi
Hell Razah
some two other nobodies......
Screwball-> Don't know them
underground group out of QB
Blaq Poet is prolly the best known member
NaCirema_NY 06-07-2005, 03:52 PM I Recommend:
"R.B.G." & "Let's Get Free" By dead prez
"Warning Shots" By Saigon
"I Don't Care (The Mixtape)" By Grafh
.........
Tw!stEd 06-07-2005, 03:53 PM Aight I knew most of them as individuals. I base most of what I write on opinion, as the only thing fact can truely be measured in is record sales.
Plug Zero 06-07-2005, 03:53 PM I recommend:
Del Tha Funkee Homosapien - I Wish My Brother George Was Here (1991)
This album was totally slept on. It's in my top ten list somewhere.
The Spectrum 06-07-2005, 04:06 PM as the only thing fact can truely be measured in is record sales.
No, even that is totally relative and skewed.
Sales in underground and sales in mainstream are two different things
the economics is way different, the distribution, the measure of sucess all different
and i say skewed because EVERYONE knows that major labels buy their own records to boost sales and in the end it dont really cost them a penny anyhow, they actually profit of it a bit, it so fucked up
if an artist sells 1 million, a label can buy as much as half those albums
so in fact only half a million got sold to real people, the other half the company just bought itself
trust moi or go talk to any industry person assuming you know one
nothing is set in stone
but you can make generalizations about who is more significant to hip hop (not better, significant is the key word)
NaCirema_NY 06-07-2005, 04:19 PM R.B.G.....................R.B.G................... Nigga This That R.B.G....................Are You D.O.W.N.?
