actually they arent useless genuis...deal with offset shit on your own.

When you supply people with info on car parts and fit ment guides you take on a certin responsablity for that info.
Ok so supply info on bolt patterns but dont tell them if its going rub on the caliper, strut, spring.

Hmmm like i said usless!

Honestly it doesnt matter if you find it useless or not.

For your information I posted this in the case that someone might want to know what size their shit is so they can buy the right one. What if someone needed a spare or something? What if they were trying to buy rims from a friend but wondered if it would even slide on?? This is what the thread is for.

Bolt Pattern has nothing to do with Offset and Rubbing "in this instance." This thread is about the Pattern, not Tire Thickness and Not Rims. I dont know what kind of rims these cats want, so i cant rightfully tell them what offset they should have. I dont know how they modified their springs or how they want their tires to sit.

And Anyway Regardless of what rim you get for your car the bolt pattern is going to be the same unless you are desprate for a certain kind and get a hub adapter. Otherwise, you deal with the offset when you get into the tires and when you choose the rim size. So wtf are you talkin bout? Nothin.

LMFAO.... You just made no sense.

Offset is how far in or out the rim will sit once mounted on the car. NOTHING TO DUE WITH TIRES!!!!!!!!

Quick example

For and lincon and volvo use a 5x108 bolt pattern. also known as 5x4.5
The ford/lincon use a 40mm offset while the volvo uses a 24mm offset.
Try and mount the rim ment for the ford on the volvo and you get a rim that is locked onto the caliper/strut/shock and will break the rim when you try to move.

THE ONLY THING MORE MPORTANT THEN OFFSET IS BOLT Pattern.
One is usless with out the other.

The only reason why it made no sense to you is because your blindfolded. Im not going to argue with you. The post is there and its going to remain the way it is. If you dont like it, go to another fourm. Im not going to sit here and argue about every nickle and dime.
By the way, i know what the hell an offset is fool, no need to tell me again.
People choose their offset depending on how they want the wheels to look. You can slamp rims and tires on a car and the tires might sit in an odd position because of the offset, but that doesnt mean it wont go on the car whatsoever. I see it all the time, some retards put some big blingy rims on a car no bigger than an old honda accord and the offset will be so off that it will look like the tires will fall off..Also, ive seen some 240sx do some wild offsets because they want to have fat slicks on the back.

Why do you Think i posted BOLT PATTERN, GEEZ WTF. Why are you even debating this?

I think you missed the fact that everything i said was based on over sizing a off set not under sizing it for the purposing of making your wheels sticking out.

Your the one saying offset doesnt matter till you buy tires. Plus its alot easyier to get away with on the fwd cars, as you can put a rwd offset on a fwd car. vice versa will get you some damge. Mearly making sure anyone who enters one of thesse uninformed threads gets the whole story and not your half ass version of it.

Since you said this thread was for mabey someone wanted to go get they friend a set of wheels or a spare like you said. You didnt not give them enough info to do so. As they would need to know what there cars offset is to buy the correct wheel. JUST BECUASE THE BOLT PATTERN IS THE SAME POEPLE DOESNT MEAN IT FITS YOUR CAR.

Do you understand yet.

Anyone would assume that someone would read a post and decide not to say anything about it. I know how that goes. People do that shit in the General Discussion Area, They say they dont read it, but yet they spend another 15 minutes in the post. Yeah.

So ill just confirm what I said. And if you would notice, you would realize I was in another thread replying to another false statement you threw in the air.

So like I said, I didnt read it.

Wanna make another page out of whether i read it or not? Ill just close the thread cause its useless.

I belive most who enter this thread will scan it quickly and relize that befor buying a wheel for a friend {your example} will take offset into concideration. So do as you wish ive made my minimal difference in the world for tonight.

Thank You

Great. And I hope they take offset into consideration once they read up on what the pattern number is. Good night.

Bolt patterns are usless with out offset info?

Agreed.

You kind of need to know the original offset, so that you may in turn, calculate if the new offset will work.

isn't the offset gunna be different on different sets of rims-so therefor it would be impossible to know the offset to use on a rim that hasnt been chosen yet--i dunno-i could just be talkin out of my ass lol

You need to know the offset that your car was designed for. Your wheels are the balancing points for your suspension. Once you have that info there is a math solution you can use so you can go with a wider/deeper rim and maintain a proper offset for the correct balance of your suspension and drive/camber angle.

Just becuase it "fits" doesnt mean it isnt going to cause you problems.

no to offend ANYONE, but honestly i found it quite informing, and im sure others will too. i have never seen so many different bolt patterns posted in one single spot. c, i own a 91 bubble caprice (5x127), and im a frequent user of various caprice/impala forums and i have NEVER seen or heard anyone mention 99+ Jeep Grand Cherokee wheels fitting B-Body cars, not even in questioning. now, i can research it a lil bit on the offset and such, and reveal my newfound info to the B-Body World...lol....much appreciated SmackPickles...btw, does anyone realize how LONG it would take to go in and say the bolt pattern, offset, AND what other cars the wheels will or will not fit? a LONG ASS TIME...and I aint volunteering to do it....

and depending on the vehicle, the bolt patterns change from year to year.
i.e. my nissan frontier maintained the same offset and backspacing, but reduced the hub size. therefore the rims went from a 6x5.5 to a 6x4.5 with no change to the style, backspacing, size, or offset.

any information (such as bolt pattern) is better than no information at all.

instead of giving someone flack for doing research and taking the time to post. why dont you do some reasearch, and post up an offset guide to include with this thread.
someones always has to critisize, but no one helps. i suppose its the way of the world these days.
