50 CENT

Guess Who's Back!

The South Jamaica, Queens 26 year old
native, 50 cent, is grinding hard
to be at the top in his field. His
freestyles on mixtapes are more like
songs because he adds a hook and an
original beat to his music. This has
separated him from the average rapper.
50 lays it down so well because he's
not a newcomer. Instead he's an established
artists that’s confident enough to spit
flames and make hot music. 50 is so hot,
that DJ’s have taken it upon themselves to
release two Best of 50 Cent mix CD’s, before
he had even signed to a major label.
There is no such thing as not being on
point for Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. He's
without a question, at the top of his game,
being an artist of Multiple Talent.

50 hit the scene like an earthquake with “How To Rob An Industry Nigga” and he’s been on a rampage ever since dealing with bootleggers, label backstabbing and other platinum selling artists trying to get at him physically. In 1999 his album Power of the Dollar, was heavily bootlegged and Trackmasters/Columbia never released it. Supposedly Trackmasters weren’t comfortable with him being caught up in the streets and getting shot three days before filming the video for “Thug Love”, with Destiny’s Child his first single. That of course led to the fall out with Columbia and negotiating his release from their grasps. He still showed love and rhymed over a Trackmasters produced remix of “I’m Gonna Be Alright” on J-Lo’s latest album. The beat making squad also worked on 50’s new upcomming LP. 50 recently signed with hip-hop management juggernaut Violator, and has Teamworks Music producing with Sha Money XL holding him down. He’s currently in a bidding war with labels like J, Universal and Jive to release his album Get Rich or Die Trying thru his own imprint, Rotten Apple. 50 has full access and advantage of the streets through mixtapes because that’s his forum because he controls it. He’s been stabbed and shot since being in the public’s eyes and has never snitched on anybody but instead remained in his gangsta state of mind. He has loosened up a bit on the violent mentality and has started coming out with concepts that can interest the world. To put it blunt, 50 Cent can’t be stopped!

Lloyd Banks

Artist: Lloyd Banks (solo artist)
Chris (Lloyd Banks) Lloyd is 20 yr. old rapper who is also a major part of
Rotten Apple Entertainment. He is also the youngest member. Banks grew up
in the South Side of Jamaica, Queens. Banks started rapping at the age of 12.
Banks was a product of his environment being shot twice, and kicked out of 3
High Schools in Queens. Banks never hustled but was raised by the streets.
Violence and drugs were around him everywhere. Banks knew both 50 and YaYo
from the streets but was considerably younger than them. Banks was known
for rapping on local D.J mix tapes in the streets.

Banks linked up with 50 and Yayo rapping, fresh out of High School in 1999 at the age of 17. This is when he was subjected to, what he feels is the hatred in the rap game. Bank feels most people don't like rappers because they get the spotlight. In 2001 around the Sept 11 incident Banks was shot twice. He feels this was due to all the hatred in the game but it just made him bounce back harder.
The incident sticks in Banks mind as the point were he really, really started taking rap serious. When he recovered from the incident, he laid down his first rhyme in the studio, which is a song on the G-Unit cd, (Song # 6) G-Unit soldiers. Banks currently doesn’t listen to any other rappers except his crew. He says " My ears are closed to everybody, except 50, Yayo, and myself. He says "I'm the hungry young nigga in the crew. So if anyone has something to say about g-unit as a group or 50 cent as an artist, he’s the one who will respond." He knows they are hot right now and only want to get hotter. They are currently recording G-Unit Part 2 in the studio.

Tony Yayo

Artist: Tony YaYo (solo artist)
Marvin (Tony YaYo) Bernard is a 24 years old. He was born and raised on the
streets of South Side Jamaica, Queens. Tony was a product of his
environment. He started selling drugs at the age of 15. Threw selling drugs,
the name (YaYo) was perfect. At this time in his life (age 15) he also
started rapping, but selling drugs was his main priority. Tony Quotes "Drugs
was my Life". He has never had a legal job in his life. (He's straight from
the streets.) Tony has known the artist 50 cent from the streets of Queens
all his life. Tony says 50 cent had the blocks of 134 and Guy Brewer in
Jamaica Queens, on lock for many years. They both were hustlers. Since 50
cent was older than him, he always looked up to him.

He got his first break with a very small-unknown record label, First Choice. There, Tony rapped on local mix tapes and earned neighborhood respect as a good rapper. Since he knew 50 cent, he hooked up with him in about 1998, when 50 cent was signed to Columbia records. 50 took Tony under his wing and brought him places. Around this time 50 cent shot his first video in Cancun and took Tony along with him. Here Tony says, "I seen people wearing houses around their necks and BenZ's on their wrist." In Cancun Tony realized that the entertainment business was definitely real. He realized that these rappers were making more money or just as much as big time drug dealers. He realized selling drugs had no future for him, but death or jail. Tony realized 50 cent was the only one around the block he looked up to that was still around to enjoy and talk about his life. This was the change that Tony wanted, and is now pursuing.
Currently Tony is one of the hottest underground street rappers on their verge of signing to a major label. He sticks with 50 cent because he knows 50 cent is definitely going places and is a great mentor to the game. Their g-unit cd is taking them to the top. Tony feels he is still a hustler but with music now. He says, " I'm not trying to be 30 still on the strip, I'm trying to be 30 filthy rich." He feels that through the music industry he will stay young because there are always new aspiring young individuals that will keep him motivated to work hard and do what he does best. Tony says,” rapping has got to be the way."
