he's got good lyrics, but in almost every song his lyrics overlap the rhythm and fall off beat. I don't care if he does it on purpose or not, it sounds gay. He's much better when he rides the beat correct. but still though, he just doens't have the mic presense as Bis or Nas, or even Kwali for that matter

thanks for your opinion...

no hate man but i must say its a pointless thing to say just to start a thread, you could have said this in 1 of the other 50000 immortal technique threads without starting a new 1, but with that said, i agree about how he falls off beat. but u didnt say anything interesting comparing IT to canibus or nas and yet that was the title of this thread

no need to....name one time when nas was off beat...speaks for itself....same with Bis

Bis and Nas record their stuff in million dollar studios

Vol 1 sounds like it was recorded on my computer
that might be a reason

but your right........Tech is off with his shit
thats just what ya get with true underground stuff

but that played into kwali's theme and emotion of the entire song.....technique will sometimes try to FORCE too much into one line, when it would have been better to drop on the next beat rotation

i just feel if he kept it on beat he would attract alot more mainstream fans, cause the kid's got talent

fuck mainstream fans

I think Immortal Technique is the anti thesis to all that mainstream represents

he gets respect from the hip hop heads
thats all one should ever strive for

who cares if you got nuff respect but its from people who dont know who Brand Nubian was

dog, you say fuck mainstream fans as if they made the choice on mainstream over undergraound. Laot of people JUST Simply don't know the depth that hip-hop has. That's why i said it would increase his awareness no people that Don't KNOW who he is. hip hop or more than just underground and mainstream.....it's alot deeper than that

not everyone has clearly picked one side over the other...sopme just only hear one kind of music. That's why it's in the artist best interest to share their music with everyone

but staying more on beat wont attract more mainstream fans

what does that havto do with IT getting more fans

if he doesnt get fans the way he is now, he isnt changing his style for nobody elses approval

he can improve his mic presence and flow, but it wont attract "mainstream" fans.

But not staying on beat with loose fans or turn away people who are possible fans...the point is that he can still stay true to his content but deliver in a way that a broader audiance will enjoy

whatever i see your point i just disagree. theres no way he can and will appeal to a greater audience just by staying more on beat. if your saying he should dumb down his lyrics and stick to regular 16's with a simple flow then yes that may attract more fans, but obviously technique will be selling out from what we all thought he believed in and he would NEVER do that.

o yea and stop double posting, you can address 2 different peoples quotes and topics in the same post

not what i'm saying...and i know you disagree dog, no need to point it out. He doesn't have to dumb down his lyrics Mos def, Kwali and Nas attract mainstream attention. and when i say mainstream doesn't mean you have to amediatly think the stereotypical 50 cent artist, there is a grey area and he's not hitting it as well as he could be. , double posting not done on purpose, i remember certain things after i wrote the previous post..but why you so concerned anyway?

im just reminding u not to do it before a mod or someone else does and will be pissed at u for it

anyway this thread is boring but i still dont see how immortal technique is the broke man's canibus or nas. if u mean broke man as in a literal sense, and he just doesnt make the money they do but yet has a similar style, then true. but usually when people say "_____ is a poor mans _____" its metaphorical and has nothing to do with money.

Personally I am a Immortal Tech fan....... I think his rhymes are pretty hardcore in nature and meaning...... As far as off beat..> I did not catch that.. So I will pop the CD back in and check on it.....

As far as Canibus go's........Can is sick with the flow and vocab meta's... All that shit... But Canibus is not as marketable as Immortal Tech....... In my opinion...

NAS... Is just a great rhymer... Nothing much else to add to that... I am not the biggest NAS fan... Cuase to me some of his work does not catch my ear...... But I am also WEST Coast........ But don't get me wrong... I started listening to the EAST first... Than picked up on the West shit later.....

AND I See that green....(Celtics)...

Well Dawg... Hate to tell ya... It's all about the Purple.....(Lakers)...

PEACE...

Immortal Tech is still a fucking rookie that needs to pay his dues
he has 2 albums out, one which was recorded on someone's fucking home computer

confirm that and I'll put up a track or five

also check out his effort on

Jedi Mind Tricks ft. Canibus - Tibetan Black Magic

I think the 2 verses he spits are like one of the greatest of all time
in terms of how he spits em out the the technical difficulty of them
just dropped my jaw

Some real real real hot shit on there but some bullshit as well. And whoever made this thread, I agree that Immortal Tech has a long way to go before he can be compared to Canibus or Nas... When he's on a label n he's puttin out mad shit like Bis we'll be able to judge better, but a tthe moment, no.
