PAX DECEPTICVS 08-18-2005, 01:58 AM Porshe Chennye..... ?????? I voted the Cheyenne. After watching its review on Top Gear, I became a fan. Wreckin Eyez 08-18-2005, 03:43 AM How you going to forget the Ford Excursion? Best SUV made in my opinion. Looks good, plenty of space, not too boxy but not too round. Comes in some great colors. The best, and only good, thing Ford has come out with. PAX DECEPTICVS 08-18-2005, 04:29 AM How you going to forget the Ford Excursion? Best SUV made in my opinion. Looks good, plenty of space, not too boxy but not too round. Comes in some great colors. The best, and only good, thing Ford has come out with. Surely not..the GT40? the early Mustangs?........ ......Ford Fiesta? Wreckin Eyez 08-18-2005, 04:45 AM Lol @ Ford Fiesta... And the early Mustangs were mainly hype. They weren't that great in my opinion, they just looked good which made them popular. In my opinion the 2005 Mustang is a much better car, and it looks better too. Dirty Frank 08-18-2005, 08:17 AM http://www.fantasycars.com/1/News/PorscheSUV/porschesuv.jpg That's the one for me baby... T1Oracle 08-18-2005, 11:43 AM How you going to forget the Ford Excursion? Best SUV made in my opinion. Looks good, plenty of space, not too boxy but not too round. Comes in some great colors. The best, and only good, thing Ford has come out with. What? Come on now... The Excursion is a foot longer than the Suburban and weighs a ton (yes 2000 lbs) more. It is one of the few SUV's that outweigh the H1 Hummer. It's tires can barely contain that weight too, you can't take that thing off road. It's a van on jacked up suspension. Where is the Range Rover? BMW X5? Jeep Grand Cherokee? (it's still performs awesome on road and off, few touch it's combination of on road and off road performance) Also the Caddilac SRX is lame, you should have the Escalade. You do have one clear winner on that list though. The VW Toureg is the best current SUV out, although it does weigh too much. It's has all around performance, decent looks, and excellent function (plenty of useable space and it can tow things). T1Oracle 08-18-2005, 08:15 PM I also like Nissan's two entries into the field http://members.aol.com/hurricanemtrs/images/2003%20infiniti%20fx%2045%20black.jpg Infinity FX45^ http://www.autoplazawoerden.nl/Images/Murano/Murano.jpg Nissan Murano^ Unfortunately (or fortunately for some) they are more like sporting cars than trucks. The Obscured 08-18-2005, 11:39 PM i didnt name them all for a reason....yeah The Spectrum 08-19-2005, 12:02 AM only thing worse then a SUV is a Corolla fuck them cars The Obscured 08-19-2005, 12:06 AM and a honda The Spectrum 08-19-2005, 12:41 AM honda is a sugarcoated version of a toyota coolplaya 08-19-2005, 09:31 AM Isn't it a Porsche Cayenne? Anyway, Does a Hummer count as a SUV? T1Oracle 08-19-2005, 11:05 AM honda is a sugarcoated version of a toyota Honda is almost as different from Toyota as BMW is from Mercedes. Honda has better engineering (engine performance mostly, especially in their fuel economy to horsepower ratios) and their cars (on average) are more sporting (suspension, engine performance, steering response, styling [some what]). The main thing I don't like about SUV's is the fact that very few people actually use them as truck, they are just "fashion" accessories. Not only that, but they are gas guzzling fashion accessories that every one of us has to pay for as they keep causing our gas prices to rise. Of course you can't expect an SUV owner to think of it that way. They'll respond "well I pay for the gas," no we all pay for the gas. Also many SUV drivers take the size of their vehicle as an excuse for driving recklessly and cutting people off. T1Oracle 08-19-2005, 11:12 AM i didnt name them all for a reason....yeah Sorry I just noticed that the poll question was different from the thread title. That Subaru is ugly, I laugh every time I see that stupid comercial "the end of the SUV as we know it and the beginning of what an SUV should be" right, that ugly thing is the future of SUV's  I am 08-19-2005, 11:42 AM What SUV do you like most, or which one would you take if you had to choose?? ^^^^I'd like to ride you!!! *wink* *wink* T1Oracle 08-20-2005, 12:18 PM ^ Way to go romeo. You just called her an SUV. Standard 08-21-2005, 04:53 PM The main thing I don't like about SUV's is the fact that very few people actually use them as truck, they are just "fashion" accessories. You're right, most people who own SUV's in urban areas own them for the sole fact that they're fashionable and the "in" thing. Not only that, but they are gas guzzling fashion accessories that every one of us has to pay for as they keep causing our gas prices to rise. Of course you can't expect an SUV owner to think of it that way. They'll respond "well I pay for the gas," no we all pay for the gas. SUV's do consume more fuel than an economy car, thats a given. The difference however, is not as extreme as people like to believe. Full sized SUV's such as the hummer, excursion, suburban, seqouia, etc. Are huge, have huge engines, and are very heavy. These are the "gas guzzlers." Mid-sized SUV's however, burn considerably less gas, with comparable gas mileage to many sports cars, and other large cars. SUV's are not causing gas prices to go up. If you believe this, you are simply buying into propagated bullshit. Gas is sold at a profit by the oil indusrty. The more demand for gas means the more gas that has to be imported, refined, etc. However, the oil companies are not importing more oil, they are not increasing the supply for the increasing demand. This is what drives up gas prices. (and the oil companies know this) So if you actually believe that just because vehicle A gets 25 mpg and vehicle B gets 18 mpg, that vehicle B is responsible for higher gas prices, you're an idiot. Also many SUV drivers take the size of their vehicle as an excuse for driving recklessly and cutting people off. Thats a half truth. Yes some people who drive SUV's use the size difference to their advantage, but the majority do not. In fact, I have been cut off by more sports cars and old people in caddilacs, buicks, and crown vics than SUV's. I drive a Toyota 4Runner (3.4L V6) weighing in at 2.5 tons. I get 20-22mpg city and 23-30 mpg highway (albeit, through immaculate upkeep as any vehicle should be maintained). I take my vehicle offroad, and make full use of the hauling and towing capacity that it delivers. To me, a gas guzzler is something that is not dependent just on how many miles it gets to a gallon, but how many miles it gets to a gallon based on its overall attributes such as its curb weight, engine size, wheel and tire size, etc. Because all of these effect gas mileage... of course some of us just choose to ignore those simple facts. T1Oracle 08-21-2005, 07:07 PM However, the oil companies are not importing more oil, they are not increasing the supply for the increasing demand. This is what drives up gas prices. (and the oil companies know this) So if you actually believe that just because vehicle A gets 25 mpg and vehicle B gets 18 mpg, that vehicle B is responsible for higher gas prices, Do you not see the circle you just created? There is greater demand but there is no greater supply so the prices rise. Why is there greater demand in the first place? Gas guzzlers. Also, no I did not read this from some news paper or any other source. I came to my own conclusion. Regardless, the fact remains that a lower demand would result in a lower price (for one our dependancy on foreign oil would decrease). Only the smallest and most carelike of SUV's have the efficiency of your average Toyota or Honda sedan. Futhermore these are (as we agreed earlier) part of a trend, that means that a disproportionate number of individuals are buying these SUV's for everyday use resulting in a substantial impact on America's demands for oil. To someone who bought one because they actually can use it's full trucklike capability (truck frames and jacked up suspensions are the reason SUV's weigh so much) I would be more understanding, but very few buyers actually do that. you're an idiot. Is there anyone on RW who can debate without insults? Thats a half truth. Yes some people who drive SUV's use the size difference to their advantage, but the majority do not. In fact, I have been cut off by more sports cars and old people in caddilacs, buicks, and crown vics than SUV's. I said "many", that is the full truth. Many SUV owners do use the size of their vehicles as an excuse for agressive driving. I don't know which majority you speak of, but they certainly don't live here. Regardless, "many" certainly applies to my claim. The Obscured 08-21-2005, 08:59 PM Many SUV owners do use the size of their vehicles as an excuse for agressive driving. ^^i hate people like that man. These white guys tried that shit on me yesterday. Im not familiar to the area so I didnt know that the lane i was in was going to turn into a Turning lane only. He saw this and he kept speeding up, while everyone was at a red light ahead. I said "un unn" punched it, got in front of his ass and braked in just enough time to slow down when the light turned green. Then they went around me, yelled some shit, and they tried to punch it. I went around them, got in front of them and left that heavy ass shit. It was something similar to a F150. And another instance. This big navigator shit tried to push his way in just because he thought he was so "big" cause he had a suv..Its so annoying. AND ONE MOOORREE TIING, i hate having a low car sometimes. Those fuckers cant see you. cause they dont look Its like, if they dont see you out the corner of their eye, they just get over. AND ONE MOORREE MOOOREE TING, bout 90% of suvs are ugly... In one city i used to live in it was about 3 guys who had blazers. One was white, one was blue, and just like this yellow and they all had rims, that was back in like 10th grade. It isnt ugly, its cool, but if someone gave it to me id trade it off. Maybe it would be better if he changed the front end or did a aftermarket grill if they even make one for that. Standard 09-22-2005, 12:22 AM Blazers are like... the most danger SUV on the market. They're pieces of shit. If you buy one you have a deathwish. The end.
