Looks like a dope console/ media center. I guess there won't be any noticable graphical differences between the xbox and ps3. Xbox may gain the edge since it's being released about 3 months earlier. By the time PS3 is released, X-box's price would of dropped.

The X-Box will have much less processing power. Both units will have multi-core cpu's but the X-Box only has 2 cores the PS3's CPU has 8 cores. What does that mean? Each core is basically another CPU's on the same chip. So that means that the Cell chip in the PS3 is like having 8 CPU's in the same system. That means that it can do a lot more things at the same time allowing for much higher performance. The Cell chip is being labled a "supercomputer on a chip" and by all current measures that seems to be true. The Cell chip will also be used in computers and other products. IBM, Sony, and Toshiba worked on producing the Cell chip. Also, "multicore" CPU's are a new thing and dual core CPUs (meaning they have 2 cores) have only recently been released for PC's. They are still very expensive though and may not be worth the performance upgrade yet. Of course, the PS3 will be sold at a lower price than it costs Sony to make it. This plan isn't new, it's what they always do (did it with the PS and PS2) because they will make the money back on the sale of games.

If the claims of Sony are correct the AI systems released on PS3 games should be much better. It is hard to tell how much having 8 cores will affect the graphics performance. However the fact that game systems have a more direct link between the CPU and graphics, that Cell chip should make a difference in Sony's favor. Games for PS3 should definately have more room for more advanced physics simulations (can't wait for the next Grand Turismo :) ), more advanced AI systems, and anything else non-graphic that can benefit from raw processing power. That could include stuff like more dynamic environments with deformable terrain and things that blow up and stay that way.

^ That's silly, everyone that knows about the hardware on these systems, knows that the PS3 has the better specs. The X-Box is a much less ambitious project, even Microsoft admits that. Although, in their eyes the PS3 is too ambitious. Of course both of these systems are being marketed as living room multi-media devices that can "also" play games. Just think about that. Who has more experience making home entertainment products that go in the living room, Microsoft or Sony? Microsoft had the option to give the X-Box support for Blu-Ray Discs (think DVD with more space on it for higher definiton). This technology would have worked better with PC's than the HD-DVD technology would and the Blu Ray discs hold twice as much. Guess which one Microsoft choose to put in the X-Box? The inferior product. Why? Because Sony has the Blu Ray disc on the PS3, and they helped develop the technology.

I don't know about the system and the specs. All I know is that I enjoy playing Xbox games more than I do PS2 games usually. I guess you could call me a fanboy... But since GTA is coming out for the Xbox systems now, I see no reason to cop a PS3.

I'm not really bothered... I'll be happy with a PS3 even if it is worse then the X-Box... which I doubt it is...
